No contest - Left 4 Dead

Dead Rising is a decent game and a great launch game (or launch window?) but it just can't compare with Left4Dead.

^thats the only thing that made me quickly trade back in dead rising.

Wait a second here.  If you used checkpoints and saved at them, and then failed, the checkpoint saves would be wiped out?  If not, exactly how is it different?  

When you did happen to start over, you did keep your stats.

Dead Rising was fun and I have no regrets about purchasing it, even considering its flaws, but Left 4 Dead still takes it for me. Over the past couple days I've put tons of hours into playing split screen, and I now plan to renew my long dormant gold membership just because of how fun that was.

I don't pay full retail for most games, instead preferring to wait until they go down in price, but I did for Left 4 Dead without a moment's hesitation.

When you beat the game after everything is done it says "X zombies were harmed in the making of this film" X being the number you killed. Sometimes they are refered to as infected, sometimes as zombies. Left 4 Dead is a zombie game, even though the people are dead.

uhm im for dead rising i honestly dont understand what makes left 4 dead so great played it for a good 30min and was bored so im 100% for dead rising over left 4 dead

Valve clearly paid tribute to Dead rising with their zombie genocidest achievement in Left 4 dead, zombie genocidist in Left 4 dead is kill 53,595 infected and Dead risings Zombie genocider achievement is defeat at least 53,594 zombies..........

Capcom are gonna have to up the ante when Dead rising 2 comes out and have an achievement where you kill 100,101 zombies therefore just outscoring Gears of war 2's seriously 2.0 achievement kill count.

Let the carnage begin.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
