Forums - General Discussion - What did you think of Resident Evil Degeneration? *SPOILERS*

This thread is full of spoilers!!! Read if you've already seen the movie or don't care.

Alright I will say it now, Capcom sucks at making movies. This movie was just plain awful. It makes Resident Evil Apocalypse and Extinction look fantastic. I enjoyed the first one though I wouldn't say it was great. Terrible Plot, terrible acting, worse dialogue, and poor animation. It resembled more of a long cutscene than feature film. The textures of the people didn't bother me but their movements were not natural and people they always seemed out of character.

Clair Redfield: Too soft and fragile for someone who has gone through what she has in the game series. Not nearly battle hardened enough. Stands around way too much and doesnt seem to know that she needs a gun till Leon gives her one. Has to ask a bunch of cavilians in a room if there is a weapon and then comes out with an umbrella. She should be way more resourceful.

Leon S. Kennedy: I am asian so I will say this. He looks too asian. Also a bit of an ass at the start of the movie. Stands there with his arms to his side everytime he says something like he's doing a monologue. Very wooden. Apparantly is carrying multiple firearms but doesn't share them with Clair till the last minute. Also he is aware of an innoculation but doesn't fully prep his team before going in.

Angela Miller: Leon's love interest. Like a deer caught in headlights. Most of her scenes involve her staring blankly in the distance. Does not move, or act like a special forces person at all.

Curtis Miller: Widdowed father who turns anarchist hippy. Wants to reveal the government coverup that killed his family but wants to turn people into zombies and kill everyone in the process.

Senator Ron Davis: Wow what an angry Senator. Totalyl overacted and seems to be mad at the world.

It just seemed like they couldn't get any of the characters in this movie right. Clair's voice acting was okay but the others were terrible. The kid was horrible.  This movie needed to have better character deveopment. There are many bad parts in the movie. One that sticks out is when a bomb goes off and blows out most of this building and Clair doesn't have a scratch on her. You won't believe where she is standing. Actually she did get hurt but by the end of the movie she is walking fine. It's fine to throw some logic out the window like how zombies moving at 1 mile an hour can sneak up on humans. Just don't treat your audience like idiots.

Final verdict: 3/10

It was terrible, wasn't it? Lmao.

Maybe I was expecting too much. I dont' think so. I mean animations in North America are great. Wall-E was the last good one I saw.

I had low hopes for this film. It appears they were too high

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

It was pap. I didn't even finish watching it, it was so bad. There really is no excuse for CG that bad in this day and age.

This movie reminds me how much better the production value is on North American animations. I wasn't even aware this got an R rating. I guess if this movie makes enough, they will do another. My biggest problem with the movie had to do with how the characters acted. They could of renamed Clair to vacationer #1 and no one would know the difference. And they just stood there the whole time with little to no body movement. Their mouths just moved. Jeez I'm grumpy.

Was it that bad? Wow we picked blu-ray hancock over blu-ray Degeneration.
