Now that both games are out for the wii, and are fully featured, which one should i buy? I am mostly interested in the quality of it's soundtrack, difficulty(more difficult is better) and online connectivity. I already own a GHIII controller, so I can just buy the game only disc. If i can get RB2 for $40 and GH:WT for $34, which do I pick? Which one will have more consistant DLC?

if i were you (and im doing the same) i would buy the rock band 1 bundle for 90 bucks and then the rock band 2 game for another 40 bucks

I recommend Guitar Hero World Tour FIRST, the soundtrack is better, is more difficult and the online conectivity works very well.
Then when you can find RB2 cheap and have some more friends to play with, buy the other one, is easier, the soundtrack is not as good, but is a better choice for local multiplayer.

I own both of them and Rock Band 2 is the better game, IMO. I'd go with that one.

If I were you I would go look at the soundtrack they have, and pick the one that suites you better. No one here can tell what songs you like and its not that difficult to compare them.

For me, I went with rockband 2. The biggest advantage it had for me was I can download the songs of rockband 1 for 5 bucks and have the entire song list on one disc.

I have both and the set list on both is pretty good. DLC is much much larger for RB2. Overall IMO, the only reason to buy GHWT is the set list. Everthing else is a clear advantage for RB2.
If you care about the drum kits, the RB2 with the cymbal expansion pack is also the way to go. But the cymbals are extra, but worth it.

ehh, this is a very difficult choice. I really don't know any of the artists on either setlist.

I didn't like GH:WT as much as GH:3, but my copy of RB2 is in the mail right now, so I can't say anything about the Wii version. If pressed, I'd say the DLC that will be available with RB2 greatly outweighs the song selection in GH:WT, making RB2 the better choice.

Rock band 2, hands down, better soundtrack, better DLC

Hey remember We are talking about the Wii version of these games.

Guitar Hero is Harder than Rock Band is as simple as that. The DLC for the wii version of RB2 at the moment is not existant, Harmonix are refining the details so RIGHT NOW the DLC available for GHWT is huge compared to RB2 (for the Wii), and they don't know about the posibility of release the older Rock Band DLC catalog in the Wii (since they released the track packs).

I sustain my recomendation, both games are great, FIRST buy Guitar Hero WT, is cheaper (according to the prices you posted), you already have the guitar, the game is harder and the soundtrack is better in my opinion.

Then if you have friends to play with, buy Rock Band 2, by that moment the DLC issues will be resolved, the instruments are compatible, its a better multiplayer experience.
