Forums - Sales Discussion - First Day Sales 7/9 (FFXII International, FF:CC preorders)

Almost meaningless; but 2 major things:

Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System (FFXII + a job system) bombed at 30k units first day. That's 20% of it's entire first shipment (150,000 units).

Also, huge numbers of preorders for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates. Retailer Pre-orders are 400,000 units. Maybe with DQS selling out first week (and subsequently under-preforming afterwards, due to used games), they've wised up. 400k would put it in between DQS and MP8 preorders, and should anticipate 300k units in first week sales.

This will be interesting how a FF:CC game does on NDS instead of the Wii. FF:CC on GC only sold 350k or so it's entire LTD. Maybe we have another DS Million seller on our hands?

Well I wouldn't worry about the sales of the first FFCC dooming these 2. They aren't following a continuous plot, and the gameplay is completely new in both the Wii and DS versions. It's certainly possible for FFCC:RoF to be a million seller on the DS, especially with the kind of legs DS games get in Japan. Both core and casual games seem to have very good legs.

That supposed to be 8/9 instead of 7/9?

And that FFXII sounds like it was doomed from the start. The original wasn't released that long ago. People always say Nintendo just keeps pushing rehashed games but S-E has lately been on a re-release high and seems to enjoy releasing new versions of their games not long after the initial release with minimal added content. It's actually quite sad that anyone would support this in the first place.

To cash in my CC rewards points for $300 in Circuit City gift cards to purchase a 360 or not: That is the question.

Most every Final Fantasy main series game gets an International release. Even FFVII had one.

Only difference is, the older ones would easily sell 250k or so units. This is wayyyyyy down from Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I should import FF12 International. The Zodiac License Board sounded interesting.

Bah. I suppose that kills whatever slim chance there was of FFXII international making it here. Which is a shame, because the skill system was my only real complaint in an otherwise flawless game.
