If extra WM+ attachments have the same attach ratio as Wii Play has worldwide - 42%

If the Wii install base is around 80M, a year after Motion Plus is released.

Thats 36M people playing Wii Sports Resort plus another 15M buying extra attachments in the first year.

50 Million units in its first year????

Even if we take the extreme low end. Assume the install base is 50M in Q2 2010 and WSR has an attach of 20% with 20% of those sales leading to another attachment being purchased. Thats still 12M.

Taking into account that the WM+ HW will be a lot cheaper than the balance board. It will be bundled with the sequel to what will soon be the best selling game of all time. More than one WM+ will be sold per copy of WSR. I think we may be looking at the most wanted item of 2009 and 2010.

Now lets get really scary. Imagine if WM+ becomes the standard. Imagine if Nintendo unbundle Wii Sports and bundle WS Resort instead. With a bundled WSR selling the system for the next 3 or 5 years instead of Wii Sports, we might just have found the WII SPORTS KILLER and WM+ could OUTSELL THE WII.

There's little doubt that WSR will join Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Fit & Mario Kart Wii in clogging up the top ten spots in Others/NA and sell well over ten million.

I still don't see much point for WM+ without force feedback. I think some people are overestimating it's appeal to the mass market. It will never sell as much as wii fit (short of the only way you can get a new wii as part of a bundle).

I don't know if I would shoot that high for Resort, but it is going to sell like hot cakes.

10 million is almost certain. Everything over that is possible.
50m+ is improbable. Nothing ever sold that well.

My guess would be around 20 million. If the motion plus really kicks off, it might go higher than that.

I just don't care. That game will sell a gazilion no matter what bunles or packages nintendo make with it. Its the sequel for the best system seller ever since mario bros on the NES.

Nintendo is not being greedy enough. If I were them (as I stated before) I'd release a pair of WM+ at the same time: Wii Sports Resort & Wii Sports Retreat. Beaches vs. Mountains. That way a user could get the multi-player with two separate software purchases. Plus two solid games IMO would permanently cockblock all the third-parties with their poorly made casual clones.

They need to start getting pro-active protecting their turf. The days of nicey-nicing the third-parties should be over.
