@Paul_Warren: SMG is the best game this gen if you are going to use the Gamerankings/Metacritic arguement. So was Metroid Prime last gen and so was OoT the previous gen.

What's your point? Nintendo made the best games if we go by your logic. You failed pretty hard, it hurted me.

@saprano: No it won't. Those games only stay in the top 10 for 2 - 3 weeks max. PS3 games never stay more than that. On the other hand, this holiday will see Wii Fit/Wii Sports/MKWii/Wii Play/Animal Crossing/Wii Music/GH:WT for the Wii in the top spots.

And each of them will sell more than any other PS3 or 360 game, with the exception of GoW2 which will sell but not better than half of the games I named.

Also what are these "glitches" you speak of in Mario Galaxy?... because I have been through the game 3 times and can't say I found any.

@ Paul-warren. All games are subjective. So therefore it's really just your opinion that Gran Turismo/ GTA4 etc. is better than Mario kart. And surely people are entitled to their own opinion. It won't necessarily the same as yours. I'm sure you could agree with that. However once you start quoting metacritic it no longer becomes your opinion. I think you are paying far too much attention on their averaged out opinions. As you are no longer thinking subjectively perhaps we should use the yardstick of sales to decide which title/s is/are better?

Would you look at that? The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time is still the greatest game of all time. It's too bad that the Twilight Princess just wasn't up to snuff.

What does that have anything to do with my question?

By the way there is absolutly nothing wrong with Twilight Princess it is a great game and true to the series in form a entertainment by you wouldn´t know since you haven´t even touched it and only read metacritic scores when they agree with what your opinion is, you have clearly shown how incapable you are to appriciate games that doesn´t cater to you and the need to flame the same games. Now keep avoiding my question again as this is your trademark in this thread.

Well no according to his logic metacritic score is only right if it is a game he likes and gets a high score then the metacritic is right and since he doesn´t like nintendo or nintendo games the scores those games got is irrelevant.

Oh well. Maybe I'm not very logical. I do use more than one source of information to form my opinions though so that could be where the confusion arises. See, there were several PS2 games that were much better than Metroid Prime according to IGN. And According to IGN The Ocarina of Time is no better than MGS 4 and GTA IV, and I find myself agreeing with that more than I do the idea that Ocarina is the best game of all time. However, if you take Dave Halverson's statement in Play's recent Report on the 7th gen that Wii Sports is the most overrated game of this console generation, combine that with IGN's review of the game that said its only a 7.6 and its Metacritic score of 76, and you find yourself not wanting to play the game all that much. However, if you look at IGN's rating for Heavenly Sword a 7.0, then go look at Dave Halverson's review of the game in Play where he gave it a 10 and explained very succintly why people that are more in the mainstream were judging it unfairly, decide to buy the game, play it, and see that it is pretty good, and then see that its Metacritic score has become more respectable over the last year or so, then you'll think that yes the game wound up being much better than one source said it was.
