Thread makes me feel sad.. T_T

disc swapping in rpg's and sandbox games are completley different
how can Rockstar make a GTA SA sized map be as detailed as IV on HD consoles on a single DVD?
The bitter tears and the meltdown are epic in this thread.
Let me shed my bitter tears too. I will have bitter tears if the localised version is delayed because of the port. That's because by then it's highly likely I will lose the little incentive I have to play the game.
Anyway, I share the thinking that MS paid a lot of money to get this game.
That's because none of the excuses make any sense.
Like said time and time again:
- Why delay the localised version? None of the other multiplatform games are delayed because of a port, only this game. Especially since that alienates your user base, and SE knows that pretty well, as they promised to reduce the span between japanese and western releases. This makes no sense unless it was paid for.
- Why only this game has an announced port for XB360? That makes no sense at all to announce it when the PS3 ports are not talked about at all, and the port hasn't not even started to be made. Unless it was paid for.
- Why no information on the Wii games from SE, the Wii which has the biggest userbase in Japan, while lots of talk is made around this main FF game?
Anyway, like I said numerous times, I expect FFXIII to break even now. I expected it to flop before if it was PS3 exclusive, and I can feel the fear within SE. I still expect FF to lose its status of flagship franchise, and the original Enix franchise Dragon Quest to take over. Ironically, DQ is far better positionned on the DS to take over SE flagship franchise.

Redundant city with voice, missions, and content exclusive to each disc? Then again, GTA didn't need more than one disc. Perhaps mandatory HD installs of redundant information. I'm sure if it was a PS3 exclusive, GTAIV woulda been a better game. That's sarcasm of course. Hypothetical situations aside, realistically, Blu-Ray isn't necessary for gaming currently. It might in very few instances, save you time, but acting like it is needed simply isn't correct. Now let me speak on the "power" of "The Cell." Another delusion of PS3 fans. IMO, "The Cell" is just a phrase that symbolizes a promise Sony made at E3, after the Killzone trailer. The promise is that the PS3 will have much better graphics, and much more horsepower than its competitors. A promise that will never come to fruition. We have people that will try to explain the complexities of the architecture. You know what that is? Cherrypicking. Even if somehow "The Cell" physically existed as a substantial entity outside of talking points, and would eventually play a role in the console wars, Sony didn't think to include the other "features" required to boost the graphical power of games, beyond the processor, like say, a future proof video card and ram setup, I'm guessing. We tend to believe in generalizations because we don't understand everything, but I think it's fairly clear that writing videogame code isn't rocket science, and "unlocking the cell" amounts to calling Sony when your 360 port has a lot of slowdown and you don't know why. imo Now maybe my opinion is wrong. I'm not a technician. However, I do know bullcrap when I see it. The signs are universal, and I know marketing. It's easy to spot. You can't mistake it. |
You are truly my one and only hero on this forum. You say everything I'm thinking.
