I was thinking, in those comparison shots, that Gears 1 looked better too. I asked my girlfriend which picture she thought looked better, without telling her which one is which or even that she was looking at two versions of the game, and she said the top one.

And GOTY? It will have to somehow get better than 10/10 from the top three sites to do that, lol. Not this year. Good ass game? Yes. GOTY? No

Thats between MGS4 and GTA4

While Resistance probably wont look as good as Gears, the online multiplayer will most likely be lots more fun. I played both Gears  and Resistance in 06, Resistance's multiplayer was better. The Gears single player story was lots better than Resistance's single player though. Of course MP will be the biggest reason for lots of people to play.

 

But the best MP game of this winter will of course be Socom. I might just end up renting Gears 2 and Resistance 2, lol

GOW1 set the benchmark for next gen console gaming and as we speak, it still is among the best looking PS360 game out there. GOW2 will definitely surpass that.

This was my game of the year before the year even started. Honestly don't think I ever been more excited about a game than this one. To this date gears 1 has had the most playtime on my xbox 360 ever with more than all my games combined including beating rpgs like blue dragon and mass effect which I beat 3 times. can you tell I am excited :)

no it's not better in MGS 4 having great textures on a flat wall is a strict minimum.....  and cut scenes certainly don't count as a graphic performance....

It's character rendering, particle effects, and landscapes were all much better than Gears of War's :x Gears of War 2 looks nice, MGS4 still looks nicer by comparison of those screenies. We'll see when the final game is released though :P

Does look really good cant wait and I most deff think that the pics of gears 2 looks better you can see more detail on marcus plus all the great textures on the wall.
