Forums - Sales Discussion - What would have been lauch sales of MGS4 had it been an Xbox360 exclusive?

MGS4 put up some impressive numbers on the PS3 last week. And rightfully so...

Below are the numbers:

NA - 502,427

EU - 429,318

JAP - 480,695

WW - 1,412,440

What do you guys think the game would have sold first week had it been a 360 exclusive?

Here is how I see this would have happened if that was the case:

NA - 800,000

EU - 400,000

JAP - 200,000

WW - 1,400,000

I don't think it would have sold more than PS3 but roughly the same due to multiple reasons (MGS series being associated with Playstation brand, more AAA gaming choices on the 360, lack of Japans install base for the 360...etc).

What do you guys think?

Maybe a little higher for NA, a little lower for EU, and much lower for Japan.

lol i wonder how manny people still think mgs4 will come too the 360.......what ever happen too that website that said he meet whit a guyt hat works for for konami and said mgs4 for the 360 has been int he works way before it was comeing out for ps3



oh yea it was xboxfammily lol

but o well i think it woulved sold the same as the ps3


it woulved only beedn 1/10th of what it is now tho lol :D

I would say almost duplicate numbers across the board, vice Japan of course. More in the US because of the number of 360's owned in comparison to PS3, but the lack of Japan support would probably even that number out.

Blue Dragon sold that much so I don't see why MGS4 wouldn't have.

Personally I think in NA it would've sold close to a million, Europe about the same as PS3, and Japan 100k to 150k

Americas: 700k
Europe 380K
Japan: 50K

= 11.3M

Guys keep in mind that ninja gaiden 2 sold 30K. Ace combat 6 sold almost 80K. There is no way MGS4 would have sold under 150K in Japan. Not possible...
