I was thinking the other day, the Xbox 360 needs a high profile shooter for 2009 holidays.  It'll be too soon for Gears 3 or Halo 4, so you know what I think it'll be?  A true sequel to Perfect Dark.

Epic: Gears of war 3 - They shoot them out every year so why not?

Xbox 360 takes 2006,2007,2008,2009 as the best console for shooters?

Lets not pretend the PS3 has anything the 360 doesn't in those two genres.

The PS3 has NO exclusive WRPG's on the horizon. 360 has Mass Effect, Fable 2, Two Worlds and Venetica.

PS3 has FF, WKS and thats about it JRPG-wise. 360 has LO, BD, ES, SO4, IU, ToV and about 4-6 lesser known JRPG's.

As for shooters, its Resistance and Killzone vs Gears and Halo. Both the 360 games scored better than resistance (substantially better) and Killzone 2 has a horrible history.

 

 I honestly thought Halo 3 was overrated, but Gears was sweet. I never played Resistance (waiting on a price drop) and Killzone 1 was average, good idea, good story, good design, bad implementation.

MGS4... sorta

UT 3 (you guys are naming bioshock)

Ratchet and Clank Platformer shooter.
HAZE!!!!!! The best shooter ever!
Time Crisis!!!!

Now list all yours and prove my point.

Which is save up to by a console to get the best line up.

It seems that everyone says the same thing, only they interchange Halo 3/Bioshock as one of the choices. I guess he can take that as a ringing endorsement or all those games.

P.S Check out hancock, the trailors up in the PC forum. Man it looks like an awesome game! If you have to have just four, bump Gears or Halo off the list to get it when it comes out.

The guy already made his decision....Why are you trying to re-brainwash him.

And I could go on and list the 20-odd game in similar genres that you named, but since I won't sink to your level, I won't quite yet.

FYI, this is a 360 discussion. Not PS3. Any more attempts to de-rail it wih PS3 crap will result in a ban.

if you're a big fan of shooters and RPGs, then upgrade/buy a PC. PC has easilly THE best lineup of shooters and RPGs, bitchslapping 260 and PS3 in every way.

Seriously though, Unreleased shooters - Gears 2/Left 4 dead along with Halo 3 and Bioshock (currently exclusive) and gears 1 would be better overall. Also Mass Effect = Lots of love and for some reason it feels similar to ratchet LOL.

WRPG = No competition.

JRPG = Depends on how many you want to play and if you like/love/crave FFXIII
