Sony to Bundle Wii System with PS3 to Increase Sales

Tokyo – President of Sony North America Frank Newmark announced today that Sony would begin bundling a Nintendo Wii console with every PlayStation 3 system sold.

Recent sales figures have shown the Wii with more sales than the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 combined.

Newmark hopes the new strategy will boost disappointing sales of the company's gaming system by pairing it with the hot-selling Wii. Newmark said, "By focusing on giving the customer what they want, the sales of the PS3 will improve dramatically."

actually.... if Sony and Nintendo came to some sort of agreement and ate 50 dollars each... selling both systems for 600 dollars instead of 700 that deal wouldnt be so bad....

Think about it. The wii wouldnt be losing anyground because ps3 would be sold alongside it. (and im sure more people would buy wiis not bundled) and the ps3 would gain popularity in Japan...

Each console would be losing some money. And each console would most likely see decent increases

Also you're looking at it from a business perspective, I am looking at it from a consumer perspective.

I don't think Nintendo does that losing money thing. They leave that for the competition.
