You figure?

Anyhoo. I usuallly don't come into threads to be negative, but...

These games were the most shallow of Sega's "shallow series" of arcade ports. Fun in short bursts at best. And disposable flotsom at worst. Sega's utter lack of understanding of what was important in a home port was on full display in the HOTD games. Despite Namco having shown them how to do it properly several years earlier. If any IP deserved Uwe Boll at it's cinematic helm, it was House Of The Dead.

He was also on tap to direct a Fear Effect movie, which thankfully never happened. The same guy who chewed out the original writers of Alone in the Dark for not featuring slimy dog monsters, long gun fights or gratuitous sex scenes got the rights to Fear Effect after the second game came out. Gee, I wonder what gave him that idea?

But as a fan of both light gun games and (mostly) any and all things zombies, I enjoyed the House of the Dead games and look forward to playing the remakes on Switch with the joy con controls, though I do wish they'd bring back Virtua Cop.

My post was a bit too negative. HOTD had great grapichs for it's time, and was a good arcade game. I just felt it wasn't a particularly strong console game. I'm not much of a fan of the genre in general though, so I probably should have just kept my mouth shut and stayed out of this thread.
