I've not played the trial (Is it a timed thing, or can I just download it whenever?) but I know I'll be buying it anyway, since it looks amazing!

Theres no word as to whether it's timed but they're adding new content to the trial soon so there's still time to try it out, and you can import your character to main game so it's worth the time aswell.

Ah cool, in that case I may have to download it then!

Literally died 20+times fighting the queen final boss of the depths dungeon you access from your home base. Now that did feel very much like a souls game. Had to level up to 35 to stand a chance.

I played some more of the demo. Didn't get to the queen yet. Just the "base" after getting berserker.

Learned about "drain" by holding X(ps4). It seems to constantly miss for me though. Like it flies through the enemy and not "into" the enemy.

Also I apparently missed getting the "backup" person after you lose one. So adding a second person amazingly changed the game. Plus I found how to make the map "bigger' so I could see where I had been, and could guess where to go next.

You would think the codeveins reddit would have people talking about the demo. It is 99% just "look at my characters". It has WAY WAY more options than I realized. I think some people will buy the game for JUST the customization features.

  • Deadliest mass shooting by an individual in US history (10/01/2017)
  • Deadliest high school shooting in US history (02/14/2018)
  • Deadliest massacre of Jews in US history (10/27/2018)
  • Political assassination attempt of TWO former presidents(and 10+ other people)  (10/23/2018 - and beyond)

I've done everything the trial has to offer now. Levelled my character to 40 and Just waiting for the new trial content to arrive now. If anybody fancies kooking up online then lemme know. Not sure how it works yet however and it might just be random who you play with online like the Souls games.

Not sure what this means. Do you mean that you were assigned a CPU partner, and couldn't select a different partner until you lost your first one?
In that case, how do you go about losing that partner? And are they gone for good if you do?

What I think they mean is, there's a point in the story that you lose your partner but later on you meet somebody else ( ot sure if they're missable) however you do get the choice to reject their help or accept it. I accepted it. Later in the demo you can select a partner at the mistle their are 3 characters in this trial and all seem like they're linked to the story. Sometimes they might die but they will revive once you get to a Mistle which are bacially the Bonfires like in the souls games.

Also just incase people didn't realise, when you speak to Louis in the base and demo says "thank you for playing" if you go back to game you can carry on and learn some more bloodcodes and also enter the "depths" which is basically the dungeons on this game and are good for levelling and getting rare materials. This is also where you can select cpu partners.

I'm just missing lots of little things. Like the game told me about Focused - but I have no clue what it is, or how to tell what if I am.

I'm trying to figure out how Focused state works. So far it seems like the only way to activate it is by taking damage.

Regarding you missing your Drain attack, did you lock on to the enemy?
Personally I don't do the raw drain attack, because that one needs to be charged up. And depending on the class you play, it may have a weird trajectory. What I do instead is a normal attack followed by R1 + X, for a quick drain attack as part of a combo. It'll just be a close range swipe attack, and it usually knocks down the enemy.

By the way, I noticed you can do cool back attacks.

I also did the same attack animation from the front though, but when I was in Focused state. Not sure how I did that.

I did lock in a couple times. It would just go through them, was quite odd.

I switched to combo + R1 and X. That works better.

How do people spend their haze? You can level up with it. You get skills with it. Transform equipment. Buy equipment. Buy items, veils etc.

There is way too much you can do with it. How do people decide what to spend it on?

Well I just got to the base, so I haven't upgraded any weapons yet. But personally if I'm able to consistently farm haze, which should be possible near any save point, then it's not really important which I spend on first, because I'll get to all of it eventually. I ran around near a save spot before and got a few levels, and then I got all skills, and then continued with a few more lvls before moving on.

When I play next I'll prioritize all the skills from the new class I got, and then I want to try upgrading a weapon.

One thing I'm wondering about is the consumable item called Regeneration. Do those also replenish when you rest at a save point, like standard healing items?
If I test this out by using some Regeneration items, and they don't replenish, then I will have lost them, when they could have been more useful on a boss fight.

They are green? And you have like 4 of them? They are how you heal. They are similar to Dark souls where you get a certain "amount" of them, but you do get them back from resting at any of the rest points.

Beat up some enemies, heal yourself using them, beat up some more. Then rest and save. You get them all back.

I found that out pretty quick because I was constantly getting hit. I'm fairly terrible.

I think I like the castor the most right now.
