Ars Technica is a great website for informed gamers, most of their articles are well done and educative, I also believe that applies to those who visit the site
So imagine how surprised I was when I read this article and the comments below
http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars/2008/04/13/grand-theft-auto-and-the-platform-debate
Here's a few parts
From the actual article
- "For many, the exclusive content for the Xbox 360 version of game will be the deciding factor. While it's not entirely clear whether or not the content is merely a timed exclusive or permanently exclusive"
From the comments
"I think that the 360 version will start off superior, but will eventually be equaled by the PS3 version once the DLC's timed exclusivity runs out "
" The issue of the DLC is not yet crystal clear, and while the DLC may be exclusive to 360. There is nothing to say that there will not also be different DLC for the PS3."
" might get GTA just for the HOME support actually. I was only mildly interested in the game before, but the rumors of getting the DLC later "
Now I left out all the other comments stating how they don't think the DLC will be a big thing. My main issue is none of them said or are thinking "Episodic Content", most are probably picturing "horse armor" DLC's and not the Episodic content "ala Half Life 2"
Now if the readers of Ars Technica don't even know this, then how the hell is MS expecting Joe and Joe Jr. to know?
* Gebx is gettting the suspicion that Peter Moore held the whole MS gaming department together. He's also suspecting he spoon feed all his employees and showed them how to tie their own shoe laces...
*Yes, Gebx will now start to refer to himself in third person... He says its fun and that you should try it..
