I *may* be getting ahead of myself but assuming the inclusion of Link's Breath of the Wild appearance in the new Smash game means his moveset will be updated how would you incorporate his BotW abilities in Smash?

I'll start with a few:

Up-B: Revali's Gale
Hold Jump: Paraglider (that might make his recovery too good but then again Villager exists so that argument is void)
Down-B: Bombs like before but spawning above his head
Side-B: Daruk's Protection (counter)

I think it'd be interesting for them to implement Link's different weapon types in his move set. So maybe:

Jump + A+→ : Link's jump attack when jumping and attacking in BOTW. Preferably the Axe weapon type.

A+→+ HOLD: Sword Charge Attack

A+→+TAP: Light Sword Attack

Jump + A +↓: Heavy Blade Attack

Jump + A +↑: Heavy Upper Spear Attack

Down + A +HOLD : Urbosa's Fury

B: Ancient Arrow/Elemental Arrows based on Skin?

B+Down: Flurry Rush as a Parry (I think every smash character should have a parry)

Side + B : Boomerang/Lizal Tri Boomerang

Final Smash : 4 Divine Beasts Beam Blast

That's all I got. Up B as Ravali's Gale just has to be done, it's time for a real recovery move for Link.

Edit: I think what they'll end up doing for Down B is similar to Shulk's Monado where you choose Runes to use. So Runes might be Down B so you can choose Bombs, Stasis, Cryonis I still think they should implement a Parry though.

Was there ever a Side-B counter move?

I think they'll make Link's L/R shield move the Daruk's Protection (since it's round and all)

The spin attack is a bit too iconic to remove so airborne will be the spin attack, while on ground will be Revali's Gale

It will be very interesting to see if they make extreme changes to his moveset. Personally I don't see them dropping the spin attack and the bombs will certainly remain similar. Maybe his grab will be different now that he doesn't have a hookshot/clawshot. I think they can replace it with magnesis.

It would be cool to have daruk's protection as the standard shield. I'd also like to see them do something similar to Peach where he pulls out one of the many different weapons for his smash attacks.

Every counter is down-B, though. That might be Daruk's Protection.

But will they still keep TP and WW link though? That could mean 3 iterations of the same character, 3 links. Personally i think they should ditch them both like they did with young kid link and just have botw link.

I think the Daruk's Protection would just be a reskin of the shield move :p
