I might have talked shit about the game in previous threads. Yea, I know I'm a smartphone game hater but I think this game has potential. It won't blow up as big as Pokemon Go was in the first few months but it will be somewhere in between Pokemon and Fire Emblem. Game will make Nintendo money and turn people onto the upcoming Switch release.

And they make decent profit on top of it ! Isn't that a good balance in terms of software making ? I mean, I hope their sharers are happy with this strategy so far.

Seems like a good strategy.  Release a smaller version of a famous IP on smartphone and follow it up with a mainline entry on their own systems.  Didn't work out too well for Super Mario Run (shouldn't have priced it more than 2.99) but they have gone to f2p since then with Fire Emblem and now Animal Crossing.  Not a fan of f2p at all but apparently they did it where it doesn't hinder gameplay too much so one isn't "forced" to feel obligated to spend money.

I´ve just started it. I´d say it is really fun.

I can see people putting many hours on it as some did with Fire Emblem Heroes.

Of course, compared to New Leaf (on the 3ds) it feels simplistic, but it´s a mobile game after all. Still, there´s a lot to do in this game!

Its intention is to bring attention to the franchise. Nintendo will probably announce a new Animal Crossing game soon.... for the Switch.

Game is fun, but expect it to get repetitive once your camp is complete. Mine was 'done' after about 2-3 weeks of playing

Yeah I got bored of it already. My fault for playing it like non stop lol

Yeah, I can confirm that. I was absolutely obsessed with it for a little while aber it came out in AUS, but I haven't touched it for at least a week now.

While at fist I was delighted with the scope they actually gave it, the game becomes rather limited quite quickly.

Which is why I expect Animal Crossing Switch to be like February release or something.

Nintenod does their Mobile games like little teasers and making one want to play the full experience. Be smart to release AC Switch soon so that those that finish their camp and want to do more jump on the switch version.

Yes please! If anything worked with this, it is Nintys strategy of making people hungry for a full blown console release.

Reading posts it sounds like they need one quick too. no better advertising than this game, but this games advertising will only last so long. People will drop it after some time and forget about it. They need to capitalize on it right now and by the time people are sick of it, release a full blown game, or announce.

You know, like a Jan 10th Direct or something that announces an AC game coming out like Feb 10th.

That would be absolutely perfect. I hope Nintendo is smart with this, but the studio is due for a full blown Animal Crossing game, so I'd say chances aren't bad.
