It's not about winning a month, it's about Sony announcing either #1 for the month and/or #1 globally. Which they did even when they lost NPD.  Which was what the original post was referring to.  "How often does Sony parade being #1" and "Hardly ever" I left off Feb 2017 so there's another.  Every company like to toot their own horn when given the opportunity. Nothing wrong with that.  Don't see why it's such a issue. If you steal your whole life and then for the last year and a half you only stole like 3 times. Doesn't mean you Hardly ever steal, just that you haven't stole in awhile. Which would of been the correct saying in reference to sony's PR

Let me use your analogy to make the point pitzy was contending since the getgo: if someone always steals until they're 17, and then doesn't steal for the next 11 years, would you look at that person as a criminal or reformed member of society?

I think a lot of it had to do with what was said by people who should have been regarded as critical voices in the conversation (most notably pitzy) and ignored.

He had already clarified his statement, but I honestly don't think you and zorg saw it. Otherwise, I think you two would have seen where I was coming from.

I don’t really see what was so rude about Insidb’s initial response to you. You said cmay proved Insidb and I wrong (which was a bit of an obnoxious comment, whether you were correct or not (which you weren’t)), and Insidb basically just responded saying that was incorrect.

The problem, ultimately, is that you and cmay either didn’t read the initial conversation between me and hudsoniscool or didn’t read thoroughly enough. And then you both made claims that Insidb and I were wrong, but you were arguing points completely irrelevant to what I said in the first place. And then, even after clarification from both me AND Insidb, you still continued to argue a moot point.

But either way, no sense discussing this any longer. It was never meant to cause a damn argument in the first place. :/

You said: "Hardly ever, which is why the PR surprised me."

He said: "Sony responds on almost every NPD about leading in sales of hardware and software. Often mentioning being #1. A simple google search shows that."

The problem is both are extremes. But clearly Sony doesn't comment much about NPD anymore and your explanation is clarified. "Hardly ever" and "Almost every" is just factually wrong on its own but context is key. However it can be lost in a huge thread like this one.

Haha confusing bc I quoted myself I guess. 

I said zorg and cmay went bananas over nothing, and whilst missing/misunderstanding my (and Insidb’s) point entirely.

Zorg responded to me calling him bananas and made it seem like he wasn’t the main culprit in the argument with Insidb. 

I apologized and said I guess I made a mistake and that cmay must’ve done most of the arguing. Then I rechecked and saw the opposite was true, hence my response that confused you.
