Forums - Gaming Discussion - Predict games for Switch in 2018

Super Smash Bros. for Switch, Bayonetta 1 + 2, Fire Emblem Fates Complete. In terms of new games, it's much harder for me to guess.

Around the Network

Pikmin 4, Yoshi, Kirby, Fire emblem, Paper Mario, Luigi's mansion, Mario party, Mario sports title, Pokemon, (Metroid delayed until 2019). Golden Sun maybe? I think Smash and animal crossing will be held back for 2019. As for 3rd parties, maybe a couple more collaborations, more from Bethesda, something actually decent from crapcom. Shin megami, No more heroes, FIFA, Madden etc, a few surprises, possibly GTA 5 as most here seem to suspect, plus all the already announced stuff. As for all the people saying MonHun 5/W, i don't think it will come out for the Switch. My guess is Sony moneyhatted Crapcom. It's the only explanation for Crapcom being that stupid. Also, yeah i guess FF15, 12 remake and KH are possible, FF15 seems the most likely, given what Square have been discussing recently.

DON'T WIN ME CHIBI BUDDY DON'T WIN ME.

ANIMAL CROSSING NEW LEAF FRIEND CODE:- 5129 1175 1029. MESSAGE ME.
ANDY MURRAY:- GRAND SLAM WINNER!

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

Still so much delusion about Fallout 4 on switch even tough it's not possible (it had framedrops to 10 fps on the Xbox one).

People talking about downgraded port, so of course it's possible.

In addition to Kirby, yoshi, and FE, I am expecting Smash bros. deluxe and donkey Kong country 3 to round out the year. Honestly I think 2018 will be a stop-gap year before animal crossing, Pokemon, monster hunter 5, and metroid prime 4 all come out in 2019.

As for third party, Fallout 4, The Evil Within 2, GTA 5 are all possibilities. Maybe Ea throws in madden 19 along with Fifa for next year. The big one for next year is octopath traveller.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

If i’m not mistaken frame drops to 10 FPS on Xbox One were not caused by GPU being too weak to handle game’s graphics. The main reason behind this was loading from slow HDD.

I think Kirby will relase before Yoshi. But your list is interesting. In my opinion, less Nintendo games will come out this year, but we'll see a couple of third party exclusives.

Kirby could be released before Yoshi since it appeared in the Direct and Yoshi didn't, you're right. The reason for Yoshi being january and Kirby march on my list however is because Kirby's planned for a spring release and there's still no game announced for january and february. We also got like 30min of Yoshi gameplay at Treehouse e3 2017, so Yoshi could be closer to completion and Nintendo just might not have been able to make more than two trailers for Yoshi (e3 2017 + launch) due to it not having enough new gameplay ideas to make another one. The game is probably more about only one big idea so an extended gameplay fits more than a few trailers which would all show the same concept.

Of course this is an optimistic list, but I think some (if not most) of it like summer Animal Crossing is likely to happen, maybe off by a month or two. I don't know what to think about Sakurai's teased new IP (he said that he uses this http://nintendoeverything.com/wp-content/uploads/vifam.jpg  for his current work, more precisely that its rifle is related to his next game somehow, I don't really see a lot of Nintendo IPs that would fit so yeah, i guess he's working on a new IP) though.

Also, do you think a 2D Zelda could release this soon after Breath of the Wild and Ever Oasis? Those games were made by the two studios which are the most likely to develop a 2D Zelda and both games being released this year. I don't know to what extent ALBW team from EPD 3 was involved in BotW's development so...
