I'm sure that the standard edition will be up for preorder relatively soon.

In all honesty... I would love a clear plastic version of the Xbox One X.
Black is so boring.

Super Metroid is not only my favorite Nintendo game, it may be my favorite game altogether. I remember beating it multiple times to get under 3 hours so I could see if that Samus bikini shot was true, ha, that seems so sad now that I think about it. Kid me was pretty thirsty for 16-bit pixels.

It's certainly up there for me as well.

I would not complain if Nintendo did a remake/remaster of that game in future.

A transparent case could be very interesting for a console, the issue is that over time it will become tarnished and opaque.

I have a white transparent Original Xbox and transparent blue Xbox 360.

The Original Xbox controller has "tarnished" so it's a legitimate concern, but the console itself is still pristine. (And I still keep it in it's original Box.)
I am also hunting down a transparent Nintendo 64 and Playstation 2 Ocean Blue console as well... And then I'll sell my plain-jane black consoles.

It's a 90's styled thing. I just like it. Haha

My black consoles even when sitting forever inside the cabinet get all scratched, so I don't know if the console would look pristine for most. But sure, it's always cool to have options for users to choose.
