Welcome all

Ok, now that the corn is out of the stalk, let's get to what this thread is all about. This thread can be used by the community to discuss games of yesteryear. Below, you will find some ground rules:

Thread Guidelines

1. Any game, any platform is fair as long as the game released prior to the current "generation". For the purposes of this thread no Wii U, Vita, or 3DS topics are allowed. However, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, and DS games are all fine.

2. As with most other threads: Personal insults, trolling, and flaming won't be tolerated at the discretion of the mod team.

[] Note: This thread has been approved by the moderator duo known as Aura & think-man.

[] Note2: The OP realizes this is a bit ugly, and he may add some pretty images at a later date..if he feels up to it

Awesome!!!! I really wanted a retro game thread!! I'll definitely be checking this one out frequently.

I love Final Fantasy 8.

This game is bae:

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I normally hate when people say this kind of thing but I'm starting to feel it a bit. Anybody else feel like gaming has peaked? I'm not going as far as the people who say "Music is complete garbage today, no more true musicians" by any means. Games still tend to be great & I can enjoy them quite a bit. It's just that, they don't surprise me or capture my full attention like before.

It's probably just a mix of nostalgia and me no longer being a kid

Nah. I get the feeling at times, but then something comes along and surprises me yet again.

Would you say Persona 4 is the best Persona?

True. It can still happen, it has become a rarity for me though. I don't even finish most games today unfortunately. Also, I've seemingly reached that age when you get a group of friends together and play an older game over a new release. (such as Melee or something)

I can't beat the pixel-art boss that turns into a baby, and I don't want to grind anymore. I'm stuck. :(

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Also, this is pure gaming gold. Why isn't this on every system ever released? Zero 4 is already an absolute masterpiece, let alone the whole series.

Re-release it everywhere Capcom!

If anything it is more of a slump caused by over inflated budgets and corporate greed.
