mobile and handheld aren't the same and the Switch will at most do a little above 3ds but more likely do a bit worse than the 3DS. People already left handhelds because of phones, and there will probably be a few that do the same with the Switch. Although, I don't doubt in 20 million lifetime if you include Monster Hunter, Pokemon, Yokai, I was just talking sPlatoon 2

The 3DS was held back by weak specs and missed out on a lot of games.

I'm not sure how well it will do in Japan, but I see a lot of potential in it. It's clear Nintendo dies for Japan, and it seems like Monster Hunter, Splatoon, mario, Pokemon, and others will keep it marching

I guess, though Monster Hunter will have to compete with Worlds.

I would honestly not be surprised if Japan would sell 10-20 million units by itself. Their obsession with mobile devices actually scares me sometimes.

I don't think the demand for Splatoon 2 or breath of the wild is 12+ million in Japan, though it might be 10 when you include Mario Kart is included

I think he's talking about Switch sales, not Breath of the Wild and Splatoon 2 sales.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

That is what I was talking about. Mario Kart 8, BOTW and Splatoon 2 are the only console sellers so far so I can only see it doing 11 - 13 million in japan right now if the stock literally never ran out(it's just theoretical ofc)

You mean... 11m ~ 13m lifetime?

I was being completely stupid. I was thinling year one sales. some how i rationalized that Japan wouldnt sell 10+ million with just botw and splatoon, but f9rgot Lifetime sales and just hoe small japans console market id. Im very tired, im so fucking stupid, my bad.

I impressed again and again how disciplined the japanese form lines.

Yeah, I still find funny this part of the culture. I see almost everyday lines of people, sometimes pretty big, just to enter for example a small restaurant which doesn't look that special. There are lines in front of the big electronics/games store very regularly, even without big releases.

And I don't even live in downtown Tokyo, where the lines are a lot bigger. I once lined up for an hour there to enter a restaurant with a Japanese friend. And the restaurant was big and really fast to serve, so 1 hour means a huge line.

They're just used to lose time like this I guess.
