Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Guitar Hero 1 & 2 for the Wii

A double game pack at a budget price of $30 would be ideal and a smart move. There were alot of games that the Gamecube missed last gen so there's nothing wrong with putting last gen games on the Wii that are worth playing.

While I can appreciate the mentality of living in the present when it comes to gaming, its sounds more and more like people are afraid of the Wii gaining more ground than anything.

There's nothing wrong with these positions, but at this point, I'd prefer new content for Wii not remakes. Nothing wrong with Okami Wii, but i think something like the Res. 5 petition has more validity and worth.

My Games of 2011:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Super Mario 3D Land

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

It's things like these petitions that show these developers that Wii owners just want more ports and no original games. You guys must love the state the third party situation is in. Hey let's have more games like Bully, Sega Bass Fishing, House of the Dead 2 & 3, Okami, and Brothers in Arms. Don't worry about spending developers' time on new IPs. Let's just port the entire last generation of quality software, just now with WAGGLE!

Who would want the old Guitar Heros now? You would be losing so many modes and content.

Tag: Became a freaking mod and a complete douche, coincidentally, at the same time.

Wow, will you never stop with those treads, can't wait for "We want every last-gen game on wii, pronto".

Yeah. Ninty will gain so much ground with a last gen port. Sales will go even higher.

What do you need Guitar Hero I and II for? You can buy a Playstation 2 for less than 100 bucks and play GH on it if you really want to. I don't see the point of a Wii version.

Why not port all last-gen third party games to Wii when we're at it?

Most 3rd parties are porting last gen games to the Wii, it's an inexpensive, lazy way to make a buck (Okami, RE4, Lego Star Wars,  Brothers in Arms, Bully, House of the Dead 2 & 3, and Ghost Squad.) ALL of these games are done well, and play great on the Wii, but it is also true that they are quick buck ports. The third party idea of Wii love seems to be to add Wiimote support to an old game and make Ninty fans feel like they are giving us something special.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'd rather see these ports come out in the first year and half of the Wii's life than some of the quickly produced shovelware titles that also appeared in that time (Soul Caliber Legends says hello).  But third parties seem to think this is all they have to do. With all the money Capcom made just off RE4, they should create several new Wii IP's. But I think they will use this money to offset high development costs for the PS360 consoles.

As the Wii closes in on 45%, and then 50% of the worldwide market it's ridiculous that so many games are released with no work spent on the controls, rushed graphics, no promotion, or are just poorly produced shovelware.

That said, GH1&2 would be great Wii ports. Even with the high penetration of the worldwide maket the PS2 had (has), there are lots of people who never had a PS2 and have a Wii. They might already have a Wii guitar, why buy more guitars to play 1&2. A reasonable port would be huge, mark my words.

BAM! There it is!
