Forums - Sales Discussion - Sony: 60.4 million sold through to consumer (ps4)

I'm just wondering what kinda bundles Sony will have for the holiday season, because they definitely have enough big games to bundle with. CoD: WWII (the first World War 2 Call of Duty game since 2008), Destiny 2, Battlefront II and FIFA 18. My guess is that they'll do regular $249 bundles for FIFA and CoD (both possibly $199 during Black Friday and around Christmas, maybe also a Limited Edition CoD bundle), and $349 PS4Pro bundles for Destiny 2 and Battlefront II, with both also being candidates for getting a Limited Edition bundle. Destiny II is especially a candidate for a Limited Edition bundle considering the first game got 2 bundles (white PS4 for the original game's launch, Limited Edition white PS4 with artwork for The Taken King). I actually was kinda expecting Sony to announce at least 1 Destiny 2 bundle at E3.

I can see for Black Friday a $199 PS4 Slim and it's gonna be HUGE.

Has any console ammassed close to 500 million game sales in just 3.5 years? It's going to blitz 1 billion in the next 3 years at this rate, especially considering 2017 and 2018 software sales will be far greater than 2014 and 2015 due to much higher install base.

Seriously I do not know.

A Cod Bundle in USA and a FIFA one in Europe will make it break records imo

I know PS2 got 1.5 Billion games sold through its lifetime, so perhaps it got even more than 500M in the first 3.5 years.

Destiny 2 bunduru in September (early sept launch)

Fifa 18 bunduru in October (late Sept launch)

CoD and SWBF2 bundurus in November

GT Sport somewhere in there

I think we might not see an official price cut

Honestly, after this past October being the worst October for the PS4 in the U.S., November being waaaay down YoY (that was a rough month overall for everyone), and December being flat YoY, I was concerned that the PS4 was definitely past its peak and that the Slim and Pro didn't do much for sales. But it seems that 2017 has so far proven those concerns wrong. The PS4 is selling faster than it ever has during the first half of the year. While we don't have anything for May yet, in the U.S. the Jan.-April period has seen PS4 sales higher than they were in the same period in previous years.

That's 7.7% up YoY. That might be slightly off because we don't have exact NPD numbers, but it should be pretty close.

In Japan, Media Create has the PS4 up 19% YoY for the first 23 weeks of the year, and is 34% higher than the same period in 2015.

Europe is unknown, and VGC is almost certainly undertracking the PS4 for 2017 in Europe just as it has for the U.S. (they still have the PS4 being slightly down YoY), but it's probably up YoY as well.

If the PS4 can keep it up with being up YoY and if Q4 is stronger than it was last year, 19M globally this year is definitely possible.

Great infos !!

Go Playstation!

Yes !!

They bundle a game I want with a good price and I might even consider renouncing my Nintendo fanboy-hood and buying a PS4 this year.

No, I don't want Uncharted 4.

Yeah, I've said it before but they really need to replace Uncharted 4, it's a great game but over a year old already. The least they should do is replace it with Horizon.

Horizon bundle would definitely have my interest.  Probably a GT Sport bundle, as well, depending on what reviews have to say.  I know the big multi-player/sports games would be popular in bundles but I don't play those.

Truth is, I'd probably already have a PS4 if it came with a game I wanted.
