Well, many people use Kinguin and Windows doesn't stop working for most people after a month... Reputable youtubers even recommended Kinguin as a way to get windows 10 and it also has a cheap protection plan if you are afraid. The store I go to is called memory express which also gives you a discount on top of matching your price but NCIX and many other stores also has a policy where as long as it is in stock, and the store is within the country, they will pricematch it. The great thing about stores is that there is more than one so if Fry's doesn't have good price match, then go to one that does. If you order from ncix or memory express, you can submit the price match online and pick it up instore or have it shipped to you.

Ok I found it. So $32 for a legit copy of windows from Kinguin. Sounds good.

Yeaa. If you really want to be safe, use paypal + kinguin protection. Kinguin is similar to ebay, only buy it from the seller with the highest stars.

Currently I'm sitting at $335 before the cost of windows, just for something comparable to the regular PS4. It would probably be around $320 if I went for a 1TB HD though.

Why are you trying to go for the lowest budget possible?. I thought you gamed on PC and knew beforehand?.

It's just a thought experiment. I already own a gaming PC that I paid around $1100 for in 2014. People claim you can get a PS4 quality PC for around the same price, but I just don't see that happening. Also a buddy of mine helped me pick out the parts for my original 2014 build.

Why is it a thought experiment though?. We've already got people all over Youtube like "potato masher" who actually go out of their way to do what you are trying to sum up on a forum.

The build idea also isn't doing much towards the question of the thread OP.

Haha, yeah we've gotten pretty off topic. Those potato smasher builds are made with secondhand parts.

Second hand parts for sure, but he's doing it for the sake of showing us said builds.

Apart from that, we have games with the likes of Quake and others that have been mentioned in the thread. I don't really go by their Meta score though.

Yeah my question has been answered at this point. There are around three good AAA games coming to PC this year.

He's using secondhand prices though and then acting as if secondhand pricing is comparable to a new console you bought in the store.

By the love of god, do not use Logisys power supply. Your computer will explode after 5 days.

Also that entire build is just weird and not very good at all.

Why in god's name would you pay $100 for a 7 year old GPU when you can get a modern Nvidia 1050 for the same price? And there are a lot of other weird stuff with your build like a case fan and thermalpaste..

This is a much better build:

Maybe not but that's a good thing, exclusives are something bad that make people buy hardware they don't need just in order to play them, so the less exclusives on every platform the better.

The fun fact about PC is you probably need one for work or school or something so you end up having one anyways, and if exclusives didn't exist you could just spend a few more bucks on powerful parts for the PC instead of paying 400$ + online + games for a console and you would end up saving money with free online and cheap games in the mid-long run.
