Surprising to see the PS4 outselling the Switch on Amazon in the hourly chart.

The Switch is being sold at a $100+ markup, the fact it is even or slightly higher than the PS4 (2 SKUs in the top 25 vs 1 SKU) is impressive in itself.  And it's being sold at a markup because it has sold out every new shipment almost instantly, hence why both SKUS are above the PS4's highest in the monthly charts.

It's the same price as the PS4 on release though. In any case, this shipment has been lasting several days now.

Wat?  This shipment isn't lasting, these are resellers or small time retailers who sat on a paltry numer to sell for $400. But the Switch has been available 100% of the time on Amazon for these markups.  It's sold out on Amazon itself, like the majority of locations of ever major retailer in this country.  That's why it is being marked up by $100 on Amazon.

I see what you mean - the seller is not amazon itself. I suppose a lot of people would consider a $98 markup to be too much even though $398 is a fairly standard price for a new system. I guess Nintendo isn't shipping enough hardware to the US for some reason.

Damn, PS4 is doing pretty good. #16 of the UC4 bundle. #53 for the Pro. And #67 for the Fool's Ed. If this keeps up, I think we are going to see similar numbers to April, but with the Switch falling a bit.

So, ~260K for the Switch. ~220K for the PS4. And ~90K for the XBO.

Well, it has only been out for 2 whole months.  And there's a possibility it could be more Nvidia's fault than Nintendo on the lack of stock.  Still, I expect things to calm down a bit during the upcoming months, as they are usually slow.

Still a far cry from when consoles could be marked up $300+ and still be sold.

Read again.

I honestly think the Switch can sell more than last month. Shipments should be higher.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Meant for May.  Unless you're just saying that's your prediction for May.
