Certainly there are people who bragged about having watched TLOU on Youtube, I also personally know people who do it.

How do you know they would have bought the game if they hadn't seen it  on YouTube?

My bro watched RE7 and now doesnt want to buy it.

If a person gets far into a game, more power to that person. Since we have the technology to showcase a game, common sense dictates to avoid spoilers. And if you happen to come across them, oh well. I have more important things to do than scream over spoilers because I have a life.

But would he have bought it beforehand?

Kinda dumb if you ask me, I get people are sensitive to spoilers and what not, but if that's the case, they should be avoiding sites like Twitch in the first place.

Good on them. Dunno why it's normally accepted with games. When a new movie comes out you don't see tons of streams popping up from people watching the whole movie in the cinema...

Two entriely different issues.

Did anyone make him watch it?

Is there any proof at all that playthroughs lower sales of games?

It's like saying we can't talk about it here as well, 'cause people are reading about the game instead of playing it.
Reviews should be a crime, by that logic.

Nobody should support Atlus on that.

live streaming a movie in a theater should be fine then. people actually do that and then post them to the web to be seen. wanna know how much money I saved by not going to the movie theater last year??

seriously though, the good thing about reviews is that it doesn't give out spoilers.

Reviews give a lot of spoiler, about everything, the characters, the story, how the game works, some have lots of images and talk about secrets.

A movie is a completely different subject, though, a movie is made to people watch, it hurts it's directly hurts it basic purpose.
A video game is made to people play, watching it doesn't hurt it basic purpose, to be played, and thus is a non-issue.
