Around the Network

Makes sense. Phones are well beyond the point of being able to do simple tasks like web browsing and etc. And phones these days do have an all day battery for normal usage. As phones continue to be more efficient and powerful, there is less reasons for people to upgrade to the latest tech apart from people who have a lot of money. So a push towards gaming makes sense. Of course, the other benefit that google gets is all the royalties from the games too so that's another good reason.

Hopefully, Google will secure some exclusives with Nintendo the next time around similar to how Apple did with Mario Run.

Make Xbox and PS controller drivers available and you can put full on handheld console type games on flagship Android phones.

I've used game streaming from PS4 onto my Xperia Z2 and it's pretty good. But not having to be connected to the internet and still having some good games to play using a controller would be better.
