With the N64 and Gamecube I took it, I knew the console was pricy and the games and stuff, but all ea and activision and capcom games I wanted played on those consoles I liked the controllers and direction.

After the Wii- its just become a milking train, weak hardware, high prices, horrible online services that remind me of a ps2 where i cant even play with my friends.

Yeah, nintendo still makes great games like they have always but its become a company I just cannot and will not support with what they are releasing right now, sure its a decent console hybrid for a handheld price but its priced as a home console when the PS4Pro and Xbox Scorpio are going to deliver much much better experiences.

Again games like For Honor, Red Dead, Mass Effect etc etc no chance, and many of those games would have been great on the go, but its not gonna happen.

I don't know, I still love nintendo because I grew up with it and I like some of their franchises but the Wii and Wii-U burned me like no console ever before.

I think you are making a wise choice to not let them rip you off.

Trolling at its not so finest, you just seem like a whiner.

Incorrect. I'm not trolling. I am not whining. I'm trying to open peoples eyes to what Nintendo is doing wrong.

wah wah wah

the Gamecube launched at like 100$ and in some ways was superior to the Xbox spec wise, its a terrible example.

The PS2 had a DVD player, yes, but it spec wise was far behind its competitors.

The Wii U and Switch may not be graphically as complex as their competitors but they do provide top of the line features in some respects, I.e. the Gamepad controller for the Wii U, and the hybrid concept for the Switch. in the end as a buyer its subjective to what is more 'value'

complains about the virtual console being or not being at launch? not everything can be perfectly ready for lunch, its the same for all systems.

You're being mega negative and are hung up for some reason. You're expectations are unrealistic, the majority of systems (yes, including the PS4 launch) launch in a somewhat similar manner to how the Swittch is; i.e. not with all of the online and virtual console (if applicable) functions available, and not with a giant library out of the gate

I mean the concept that you are suggesting that the Switch Pro controller is 'priced too highly for most people' when the pro controllers for the other most recent systems launched at $60 just shows that you are extremely mega biased, as if $10 suddenly makes a price point impossibile for people

Nintendo products are expected to be cheaper by default apparently

Regardless of the Switches quality (which we really don't know yet) I have to say this launch is looking pathetic so far, and it really worries me about how far Nintendo's strayed from the top pack that this is apparently the best they can do for a big exciting launch. Yes, launching with Zelda is pretty strong, but then only 8 other games, many of which aren't even the full AAA experience, and are a couple of years old already... and with a list of features still not available at launch...
It's not great.

I guess you don't really understand the concept of soft launch, when this thing is exploding in sales this holidays go to the people that designed this launch and tell them that it was pathetic xD

No company/person/etc. is a saint. Sony, Microsoft and Third Partys do plenty of stuff I don't like as well, so I just go where the games I want are, and right now that's still Nintendo.

What your list could have been:

1. This is the worst. No power cord for 3DS XL. Sony and Microsoft havent made any mistakes as big as this...

2. No faulty hardware for their home consoles. Consoles that are made to last and often offer new ways to enjoy gaming like motion controls, goggle free 3D or HDrumble.

3. No droughts after launch for Switch. Nintendo offers one big game for Switch launch along several smaller ones and keeps on delivering great games through out the year, thus avoiding droughts.

4. No more support for Wii U. After Zelda, I think that is it for big titles. They are focusing on Switch and wont waste any recources on the console that failed miserably. More games for the Switch and less time used developing games for the dead system, Wii U.

5. I just read on here, in another forum post, no headphone jack for Switch. I used I minute of my life to check if it was true and quess what? It was not true :)

6. No Virtual Console at launch. Great! Nintendo confirmed that Switch was also getting at least some Nes games, that means vc will come, so Switch might get games from Nes, Snes, Nintendo 64, Neo Geo, Commodore 64, Game Cube, GB, GBA, DS,3DS....

7. No Metroid announced for Switch, but hinted at many times ;)

8. No more preorders for Switch at many locations. It is a good sign that at least there is some interest and demand for the new system and now Nintendo might realize to ramp up the production etc.

9. No to making enough Nes Minis to meet demand. Good to have this before the Switch, because now Nintendo might have more faith in the Switch and be better at matching demand.

10. No price cuts for 3DS or Wii U in a long time. At least something nice for those unlucky ones that bought Wii U at launch (a large chunk of those who have one) is that Wii U kept is value. For those that made the mistake of buying 3DS at lauch, before the huge pricecut, they luckily offered some free games to keep them satisifed, although as the system was succesful and got many good games they most likely were happy anyways.

11. No Nintendo Direct for Switch, but something even better, a large scale presentation, treehouse event etc.

12. No decent price for the pro controller and maybe 1,2 Switch. However Switch itself, most of its games and its online service are very affortable.

13. No pack in game! 1, 2 Switch could have been a pack in from what I've read, but that is depending whether the game is fun or not.

14. No hard drive for Switch. blaa blaa blaa

Um... I can't in good conscience paint such a rosy picture.

Part of my point was that many of your points can be seen as positive things and can be looked a a different angle. And for example whining about no virtual console at launch is backwards thinking as sony and microsoft have no such feature (at least not in the same scale), same for Nintendo directs.

No miiverse for Switch, No double screen on Switch, No handle on the switch console, No Starfox announced for Switch...Bad Nintendo, shame on you Nintendo!!! :D

Also apart from the positive view of console shortages, what part of my post is too rosy?

Also making the no power cord included with the 3DS XL the worst No, was at the same time smart, as  everyone can agree with that, but also ironic, as it is such a small thing, if that is the worst No then Nintendo must be almost perfect  O_O

I can also understand Nintendos reasoning for not including the power cord as many also might have already had one from 3DS and for them it might have been useless, a bit similar as when Sony did not include HDMI cable with PS3 until 2010 or something like that.

You tried to burst the "Nintendo fan bubble", but did you realize that you might have your own bubble?

All these things just come down to Nintendo liking to do everything cheap for them. While other console makers go out of their way to deliver the biggest value for the consumer and produce a competitive product while even taking losses Nintendo is either too afraid or too stubborn.

Probably too afraid. Unlike Microsoft and Sony, Nintendo can't cross finance selling hardware at a loss with income from other divisions. Sega sold the Dreamcast at a loss, and that drained them so much money they had to stop producing the console or face bancruptcy. In fact, the better the Dreamcast sold, the worse it got for Sega. While Nintendo also started selling hardware at some loss (they did originally with the Wii U), they don't undercut the price nearly as much as their concurrents - they just can't afford to do so without risking it to be a huge money drain.
