Forums - Gaming - Switch... It's worse than I thought! Much worse.

Did Switch disappoint?

I expected a bad presentation, but this was horrible. First off, 300 dollars? Are they insane?! You can get a PS4 or XB1 with an ultra HD blu-ray player for that. Second, no technical specifications at all, except the battery life. I expected at least the portable screen resolution and on TV screen resolution. No hard drive info or storage information. No info on RAM, GPU, Etc. Nothing about Virtual Console. Few exciting games. Trivial talk about 3rd party games with no name or description. The only good thing I heard was that the portable can last up to 6 and a half hours.

The biggest shock for me, however, is that they are pushing Switch as a Wii 2 with a portable aspect. The motion fad is over. They want to bring it back, but with more control options. This will not work. I predicted failure, but now I see a failure beyond even Wii U. They gave me no reason to want a Switch unless they don't bring the new Zelda to Wii U. That would be such a betrayal to Wii U owners though, that it would convince me not to get a Switch anyway.

As anti Xbox as I am, I would prefer it over Switch. I think I will just stick with PlayStation.

Won`t happen.

The hardware probably deserves it, but their software for it (when it gets round to releasing at least) will ensure that it won`t do anywhere near as bad as the Wii U. I am of course assuming here that it ends up with Pokemon and Monster Hunter games in addition to the ones already shown... but why wouldn`t it?

The problem is that we don't know. They kept us waiting so long but gave us little information. They didn't mention Pokemon or Monster Hunter, so who knows.
