Total shipments and digital sales for Final Fantasy XV have exceeded six million units, Square Enix announced.

That means an additional one million units were shipped since the game’s first day shipments of five million.

 

Excellent news.  This means I wasn't overshipped and it's selling well.  Throughout 2017 I can see them shipping another couple of million.  Should definitely hit 8m and possibly even their target of 10m when all is said and done!

I'm not sure you're reading it correctly. The digital sales are NOT shipments. And if we use the 20% digital sales average (I'm pulling this number out of my ass) that means it barely sold their initial shipment. Which is still better than a lot of people expected but considering the price drops it would be pretty bad if they couldn't clear their initial shipment.

All in all it is a decent result.

The initial 5m they announced shipped included digital sales aswell so your theory is moot.
