Forums - General Discussion - 2016- The Year of Memes?

Best year of memes?

Yes 1 33.33%

No 2 66.67%

Total:3

Could it be that 2016 shaped up to be the single greatest year in memes of all time?

Lets list off all the memes that hit the mainstream during this year.

Harambe, Dabbing, Pepe, Damn Daniel, Exploding Kid, Pokemon Go, Little Einstein, Ted Cruz, Bernie Sanders, Crying Jordan, Bye Felicia, happenings, Frog on Unicycle, "Dont Talk to me or my son ever again", Donald Trump, and much more.

Some of these transcended meme and had real world implications, like the meme support of Donald Trump, and Pepe being registered as a hate symbol, and "Pokemon GO to the polls". However one views these memes as negative or positive, the fact remains that memes have never had a stronger foothold in non-internet society until this year. The question is, where will it go from here?

Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda!!!!

Around the Network

I'd be curious how much of the general public is aware of this, or seems greater if you are immersed in the internet on places such as Reddit or 4Chan.

I've been more active on FB this year than any other years and yeah, I did see a lot of memes that got popular.

Pocky Lover Boy!
