Forums - Gaming Discussion - Your most disappointing game ever?

Mega Man X 3. Not the worst game in the world, but a huge step down from X1 (I missed out on too). It was one of the first games I bought with my own money, and as I was like 10 at the time, that was a lot of money.

Do you still have that game? At least it's worth truckloads of money hehe (if on the SNES)

as for my biggest dissapointment... probably Super Bomberman 2.. first gameis one of my favorite games of all time. Great music, great campaign, fantastic co-op and multiplayer.

Second game lacked pretty much everything that made the first game so great

Metroid Other M. This game was hyped up to be the next Super Metroid, and since Super Metroid is one of my favourite games of all time, of course I was pretty excited.

When I got the game and started playing, something started to feel really off. The music, atmosphere and gameplay just did not feel like Metroid. Aside from the game just feeling unnatural, it just wasn't all that good either, I don't think I've felt so much disappointment since.

Majora's Mask 3D. I was really excited for this remake but they made too many changes to the game and I didn't like it at all. I'd rather play the original one.

Fire Emblem Awakening.

Radiant Dawn was still my all time favorite game when Awakening released. The previews were really good, so I even preordered the limited edition 3DS with the game (I didn't have any 3DS back then). The reviews were also amazing so I was really hyped about the game. Biggest disappointment I ever had. I usually finished Radiant Dawn in 3 days because I couldn't stop playing it (I finished it 3 or 4 times), but Awakening took me a year to finish because I couldn't find the motivation to keep playing. I even had to restart the game in Lunatic to find some interest. The focus of the game changed too much, and the TRPG elements were just... absent or bad, especially compared to Radiant Dawn.

Because of this I still can't buy Fire Emblem Fates, even if Conquest supposedly comes back to the original formula. For the first time since I discovered Advance Wars as a kid, I lost faith in Intelligent Systems :/

Surprised no one said animal crossing City Folk.

Simply put, it's the worst out of the three and had me disappointed for quite some time. Unlike the other games it felt stale, especially since it was close to impossible to get money. Not a lot of new features, the city could've been implemented better, etc.

Far from a bad game, but for animal crossing standards it had me unsatisfied.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Mass Effect 2. "Hey, let's remove the fun exploration of the mako, completely strip back the enjoyable customization of weapons, limit the hell out of point allocation when leveling up, remove XP from enemies, lower the level cap so you pretty much max it out in a single playthrough, have formulaic mission structure to make the game predictable, and have a less interesting story" Oh yeah, greeeeeeeeat game...

Castlevania Lords of Shadows 2
FF13
Resident Evil 4 and onwards.

All of the for the same reason, their predecessors where so much better and on their own I dont consider them to be good games. And in RE's case I consider it the game that ruined the franchise.

Hard to go back in time I guess. Only the latest one is sticking to my mind :)

- No Man Sky (I have it on PC)

This thing is just horrible... I had huge expectations.
