Yoko Shimamura is pretty great, and I highly recommend this fantastic album for any fans out there:

Also a big fan of Kohei Tanaka's work on the Gravity Rush soundtrack.

Otherwise gotta give props to Toby Fox, Shinji Meguro, Gustavo Santaolalla, and Austin Wintory.

Jesper Kyd.

Nobuo Uematsu, Shoji Meguro, Jack Wall, Christopher Tin, and Matt Uelmen.

My favorites include

Michiru Oshima (ICO)
Kow Otani (Shadow of the Colossus)
High frequency Bandwidth (Pixeljunk shooter 1,2, Sidescroller)
Baiyon (Pixeljunk Eden, 3AM)
Austin Wintory (Journey)
Darron Korb (Transistor)
Takeshi Furukawa (The last guardian)

Matt Uelmen (creator of Tristram theme) he made the music for Diablo 1 & 2. This guy is a musical genius.

Mark Morgan - soundscapes he composed for Fallout 1/2 are, at least for me, something that is integral experience of those games - never have I felt so IN the gameworld, despite (even at the time) not so great visuals, like with his music.

Yoko Shimomura for sure.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Akira Yamaoka. He should make every song for every game...
