The Borderlands collection is free on Xbox One right now

Xbox One owners can play Borderlands: The Handsome Collection — which includes Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel — for free this weekend, Microsoft announced today.

The chance to check out the pair of Borderlands games for free is part of a “Multiplayer All-Access event” being held by Microsoft this weekend. Xbox 360 and Xbox One owners will be able to play online multiplayer games on those, even if they don’t have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription.

The free Xbox Live weekend and access to Borderlands: The Handsome Collection runs Oct. 27-30.

I almost never jump on these free weekend deals. I have enough of my own stuff to catch up on. Playing something that will be gone on Monday just doesn't appeal to me. Not worth the lengthy download. For those interested, maybe it will convince them to buy. I don't know.

The collection is good, I had fun with it. Didn't get presequel on PS3, so got the collection on PS4 and it's shorter story than BL2 but both games are hours of good fun gameplay, no one will finish is a weekend. Have fun whoever has a go at them.

Wouldn't even finsish one of the 2 games, unless of course you grinded for at least 12 hours a day. Seems like an odd choice of games to have a free weekend for.
