... increase the speed battle and/or change the settings to Active battle? I always change the settings because battles seem too slow on default settings so I was wondering how you guys approach the battle settings for FFVII.

I had no idea that you could even change the speed. As for the active battle, I was thinking of changing it to wait as I was used to the non-ATB of FFX, but I ended up not changing it.

I have to admit, I change it to "wait" when I am fighting the Weapons. xD

I kept the settings at default because I wasn't bothered by the battle speed.

Always fastest speed.

In a JRPG, my second biggest turnoff is a slow battle system. I love the Xeno Gears/Saga series, but GAWD I wish there was a fast foward button.

I was quite young when I played final fnatasy 7, it took me months to finish, see I was stuck at a point. There was a big snake in a marsh and I didn't understand you needed to train a chocobo to outrace it.

So I practised for weeks, grinding small monsters, buying the best possible gear untill I managed to kill the snake.

I was extremely dissapointed the rest of the game was super easy xD
