Linkz has ....been ...I just feel like linkz used to pipe in much more and give everyone much more run for their money. Could be that he is getting the rust off after not playing with us, but I can be he has been playing on his other site all this time.

I haven't played on gamefaqs since before my disappearance from here actually. The only rust I feel is trying to remember how people used to play.

If I saw your softclaim, and I believe linkz is better than I, then linkz also saw it.

Though linkz, who is a better player than I, just agreed that mafia likely wouldn't bring it up and just kill you, hoping that nobody noticed your post.

1) I don't think I'm better than you. I believe we're both good players, with our share of great games and poor games, simply more of the former than the latter.
2) I don't like that you repeat this thought. Just irks me like it could be a taunt.

Linkzmax said:

Most importantly, prof please unvote yourself. I certainly will get to why you're almost surely town, but you need to shake yourself off and get back to scumhunting. Ignore zero if you need to.

In a way I'm glad you didn't fully heed my advice. You've since moved on, which is good, but that you went back to read old games and even dead threads pushes you from a 95% townie to a 96% townie for me.

What do you mean it seems like a taunt? That I'm taunting you? Iirc our first game I went after you so hard because you were so astute and confident and I was like, nobody can be that good. Turned out, you nailed every single thing.

But tbh, I only repeat it because much of zeros viewpoint was coming from a "prof is shit at this game" stance. So it was more like, once again, it's not just me.

As in right now I strongly believe you are town, so picture any bad guy grinning while rubbing their hands together as they masterfully outplay the good guy. I get your point though.

Digging up some older posts. (A long post directed at zero is in the works btw)

The trucks/link suspicion is mainly due to that bait thing, which I saw as focusing on a trivial point that wouldn't likely go anywhere. It came off as a potential establishing shot. Links portraying the two as having no ties. I believe it's a common tactic to suspect teammates as mafia on day 1. I'm not saying either of them ARE mafia, just that I'm noting the possible link.

I know I don't have ties to Trucks, but I don't think I was portraying a lack of a tie between us after you had proposed it either. Simply explained myself a bit more. I was being critical of a scum spurge indicating a scum Trucks though. Also, I'm still curious about this:

Anyway, I'm more wondering if you were going to give reasoning as to a link between your third pairing of scum, namely spurge and I.

Links has been like as if his been following the game without really following it i dont know.

Prof is a pretty hard read for me he has been so different this game but like linkz says maybe he just is town who wont give up without getting the last word in even if that means exposing roles while doing it.

I didn't say that about prof, Trucks did.

Pretty much i feel like linkz has been lurking big time. He clearly knows whats going on since his been following the game but keeps talking about how he will re add his points. Why not just add them since he seems to have such a grasp on whats happening? could it be that he needs to wait till he thinks he can find an easy lynch to add his points on "That" person?.

Lurking compared to who or what? I didn't make my other points Wednesday night because I was waiting on you to finally understand that a no lynch today would not extend the game. If you weren't capable of that, then there really wouldn't be any sense in bothering with anything else I wanted to say to you. Then last night I didn't get out of work until really late and had to go to my firehouse after that. Even though I should have gone right to bed, I read the thread, posted about the big topic of the day, and left a question for Trucks to answer. I don't like posting from my phone as it is too difficult to quote posts, and I prefer proper quotes to minimize confusion.

Some older stuff that I will simply link to:
http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8105759 You just recently mentioned that you're often following what others do. If you want to be the leader, then you need to be convincing about people. I understand having a stream of thought, but flopping back and forth like that shows a lack of consistency.
You asked: "But did trucks even say i was town?, i just remember you saying that?"  Trucks said: "I'm liking the activity and it does give me a slight town lean on the two of you." I jab: Who's not following the game? It wouldn't have even been hard to look that up yourself.
There was more I'd have said about things during the banter between you and prof, but it's more just lessons/advice. Not really essential anymore nor constructive at present.

zero, have you never been mafia before?

Yes i have a number of times why?.

I couldn't remember if you had been. I was asking because between the softclaim, quite a bit of directing,(~"I want the mafia to come after me, winky face") and indicating a lot of what mafia would try to do, I wanted to be sure you actually know how scum play.

There's probably more I want to address from yesterday, but it's going to have to wait again. Gotta get to the bar before the kitchen closes. If anyone is around in a few hours, drunk linkz should be around to have some friendly discussion :)

Here's my thoughts on everyone up until now :

zero: His play style is true to what I remember from my games with him: super defensive, instantly feels suspicious of anyone who questions him and incredibly  stubborn. All of this reminds me of his Town play but the thing is that I don't remember playing with a Mafia zero so I don't know how able he is to replicate his usual behavior while scum.

prof: I like his input so far, I can sense a desire to move things forward from his posts. There's a bit of stubborness too in wanting to have the last word with zero but for now I don't detect any evil schemes behind his interactons so I'm currently leaning town.

spurge: I'm seriously impressed by his play so far. He wants to cut through the bullshit, I liked his interventions to get zero to focus on something other than prof, his observations are spot on, even when concerning me: my post this morning was, I think, helpful but relatively risk free participation but I didn't have time for more before heading to work. I'd say he's my strongest town read so far.

linkz: Good participation, shares his thoughts about players, tries to bring back less active posters into the conversation with question directly addressed to them so I'm leaning town on him too.

Mr.PS: He had good activity at the start of the game but then faded away a bit in the last days. I also found his reaction to prof's self-vote a bit strange because the logic that scum would never do that just does not hold but I guess it could be attributed to being a relatively new player.

Xander: Not much to say here, he's been mostly absent.

This is the most we've gotten from Trucks since the game started. Notice there's a lack of scumhunting in it. Even using process of elimination on the town reads, the best he has is not remembering a mafia zero, Mr. P has faded and said something strange but is new, and Xander has been absent.

As much as I understand the need to lynch on Day One, I've been very rarely confident in my Day One reads. I feel much better once there's concrete stuff to analyze in conjonction with the subjective matter that is players' posts.

You have the right idea by going by the process of elimination since it's usually how I can bring myself to make a choice of who to vote for on Day One since it's easier for me to know who I don't want to vote for rather than who I'm convinced is scum.

The three candidates you singled out are indeed the ones I would have considered for a vote at the point I've made my post. Now, a nice 70 posts have come between that time and now and I'm going to

Vote: Mr. Playstation

His outburst following prof's vote really rubbed me the wrong way. Especially :

The post Spurge and Trucks made are mindless, written only with the function of seeming active and nothing else (Especially Trucks). Not worth analyzing, I do the same thing everytime. My previous posts have all been to seem active but in reality they're just really passive agressive balming everyone and hence nobody. It's how I play. In fact I laugh whenever you or zero try to analyse them, 'cause they've got no substance and absoloutly mean nothing. (Not really such a great method to use from history in such a game, but old habits die hard.

First of all I take offense at my post being called mindless! I may not have the time I used to have to play this game but the little time I have I try to spend it writting useful posts but in reality it's the rest of the paragraph that irks me because it amounts to saying "I only do worthless posts town or scum, so don't expect anything from me", to me that sounds like scum not wanting to even pretend to scumhunt and hiding behind the excuse of "that's what I do all the time"

I read this post as: "I can same my soul from elimination, 'cause some dummy got voted for. Let me hope on that bandwagon".

Xander is so inactive that he's not a threat. Last game was a total fluke and spurge was the one that carried everything through. Probably going to get killed day 1 now. Everyone's blamed him for so many things that really who can you actually point your finger to?

The first paragraph is such negative behavior. What is your goal when playing Mafia?(The game in general, not scum-aligned)

Most people do the same thing, especiially during the first day (Seen Trucks, Xander and Spurge all do it in this game and some other games). My goal when playing Mafia is to have fun which means interacting and getting in a couple of arguments here and there. It also helps to be to actively try to solve a mystery here and there :). I've been a bit to busy to do that at such an early stage of the game and the times I do enter the thread, I feel discouraged from adding my opinion when the same argument is still ongoing.

Time to mod poke xander or look for a replacement.
I'd start looking now, I'm not going to play another day with this guy mossing.

Now we have trucksack on mrp. I think I'm actually ok with that. Spurge zero and others. What are your stances.

Links do you think trucks is scum?
