In an attempt to capitalize on the popularity of the Pokémon GO fenomenon the Valley Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau of Lompoc (CA) requested to change the name of the city (at least temporarily) hoping to improve the tourism in the city. It's certainly not the first time that people try to capitalize on Pokémon GO, we've seen in the past two months plenty of immages that prove how shops gained from the popularity of the game and how even Mc Donalds and GameStop had significant sales increases when located nearby Pokéstops. However Nintendo still hasn't spoken openly about it and the name won't change until the japanese company agrees.
