OT: how long did it take you? Was it really worth it? I like the concept of achievements/trophies but I only get platinums on games that I really really enjoy my time with. I stop playing games that don't entertain me anymore, and I don't even try to get the trophies if they're not compelling in the first place.

I have no idea how long it took me to get the platinum in Mad Max. As soon as I got the platinum I erased the game off my HDD to make room for Until Dawn. Does the PS4 keep track of play time like the Wii U?

When I am done with a game's story I look at the trophy list to see how close I am to a platinum. If I'm only missing a few l will go for the platinum. This damn trophy right here, the UP TO THE TASK one took me over 10 hours. For one gold trophy. If you look it has a 0.9% completion rate. Just like the platinum trophy has. So this trophy right here is the one everybody gets stuck on.

As far as movie tie in games goes it's one of the better ones. The best thing about the game that makes it better than most open world repetition fests is the open sand box vehicle combat. Just like a Mad Max game should be.

To me the game was very well worth it since I got it used on the cheap. The gameplay most important here is the vehicular combat with fantastic accident physics that lead to crazy movie like wrecks. There are some "wow, did you see that" moments that look like well choreographed movie scenes as you pull the front tire off of the car that is chasing you and it nose dives into the ground at 80 mph, then flips end over end and hits the ground in a fireball explosion.

Under 1% too, nice.

Never got around to it but it does sound cool.

Thanks.

I have another platinum trophy that is 0.4%. It's Disney Infinity 3.0

I guess their isn't a lot of people that trophy hunt that game. I got it for the Star Wars characters.

I did basically the same with the FFX/FFX-2 remaster platinum's. It isn't that hard but you have do some crazy work.... Dodge 200 lightning strikes in a row/Fill in every nod in the sphere grid with every character/Complete Last mission/Complete the game with 100%/Defeat Dark Aeons. Took me 200 hours but I feel good about it...The thing is after you are done with it I just don't want to play a game for some time...

Holy crap. 200 hours to platinum. I don't think I could have done it myself. But I do have like over 200 hours in Smash Bros. so maybe I could.

When hunting for a trophy becomes tedious work (100%ing the sphere grid in FF10) or needlessly daunting (Super Meat Boy), screw that. There are too many games out there to spend 200+ hours bored or angry with one.

I agree. I'm not a trophy hunter by nature but if I am enjoying a game and am close to getting a platinum then I will go for it. If I get horribly stuck on something I will just move on to the next game in my backlog.

I changed the thread title to more accurately fit this thread. The poll reset to zero for some reason.

What's the point in having trophies if they don't take work to get?

Completing chapters in the story as you progress are stupid trophies. They should be things that you generally wouldn't do.

Heh ... I platted Nom Nom Galaxy -- that one is has a 0.1% complete rate on PSN and 1.39% on PSN Profiles (only trophy hunters even use the site).

The Final Fantasy X plat is one I'm considering abandoning. I only need Chocobo Racing and Penance (the blitzball is doable) --- but fuck fuck fuck fuck that race.

yes
- collect everything
-get rang S everything

is what is unexcatable for my taste

Your getting rewarded for beating the game. So bronze trophies are fine for completing story objectives. One gold trophy for finishing the game also seems to be fair. How many people play a game and never finish it?

Platinum trophies are the ones that should require a above and beyond effort to achieve.
