Yeah, just show a dumb logo... And half that CGI stuff was stolen from 09's end credits. SO are we gonna have to call this series '17? Cause they can't come up with sub titles.

^ this. Thats why I commented its nothing, because it doesnt show the series.

Its just the typical logo and themesong.

Its not a trailer, that is the wrong word for this sort of thing.

Its like when they do a press release, stateing that there will soon be a press release.

I hope this new series is as good as The Next Generations, and set in the prime universe.

All I've wanted since TNG ended was a third generation in that vein.  Voyager and DS9 were fine, but TNG is the gold standard for me.

I'll definitely watch this and hope have good cast and writing capturing the spirit of the series.

i love star trek but not enough to watch live tv. hopefully this comes to netflix. :P

Definitely looking forward to this! Part of the reason I value the new Star Trek movies so much more than the older movies and shows is because they are visually stunning. Now that good visuals can be achieved even with a modest budget for TV shows, I think the new Star Trek will be great in the regard.

Please, please be good. And please move away from Abrams' interpretation of the series.

Imo the best Star Trek series ever was the 2001-2005 one, called Enterprise with Scott Bakula (it was the prequel to the first series).

Was that from Abrams?

I never understood why they dropped that one ; _ ; it should have run many many more seasons.

*edit:   Star Trek: Voyager   was pretty good too. I love the BORG :) the more borg the better.

Abrams made the two most recent Star Trek movies, which, to me, walk away from the science and humanism that have always defined the series.

I pray that the new TV show will carry on the tradition of the TOS, TNG, DS9, and Voyager, and steer clear of Abrams' bastardization.

TNG was good bc of the acting.  It had Patrick Stewart who was a Shakespeare and actor.  Georgia was the main character in Reading Rainbow, a show in watched as a boy in the 80s.  So it has some established named and the series will have a tough time equalling that.  Hope it can live up to the high bar set for it.  My own city has a star trek club that meets weekly...  thinking about joining  :)

definitely, I've watched them all, but The Next Generation is the only one in the series I've watched twice. I hope the new series will have the same impact.
