CBS Studios debuted a teaser trailer and revealed the logo for the new Star Trek series. Which will premiere January 2017.

The upcoming Star Trek series, from CBS Studios, has Bryan Fuller (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine & Star Trek: Voyager) on board as executive producer/show runner, Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek Movies & Xena Warrior Princess & Watchmen & The Amazing Spider-Man 2) as executive producer and Nicholas Meyer (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan & Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home & Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country) as writer and consulting producer.

In the U.S., a special premiere episode will air on the CBS  Television Network and all subsequent first-run episodes will be  available exclusively on CBS All Access The series will also be available on television stations and platforms in other countries around the world.

I hope this new series is as good as The Next Generations, and set in the prime universe.

Good, good. The new movies need this frankly. The original movies were quite divorced from the Star Trekking as well. It didn't matter cause all that was established in the show. Hopefully this will help fill that hole.

Please, please be good. And please move away from Abrams' interpretation of the series.

I'm anxiously hopeful, the new movies I did like for what they were, but this has the potential to be so much more if they can recapture what made Star Trek great.

The teaser was kind of unnecessary though, lol, they could've just released the logo.

Apparently it's thankfully set in the original timeline, not Abrams' perversion. TNG, DS9 and Voyager were great, I hope it brings back the feel of them

Imo the best Star Trek series ever was the 2001-2005 one, called Enterprise with Scott Bakula (it was the prequel to the first series).

Was that from Abrams?

I never understood why they dropped that one ; _ ; it should have run many many more seasons.

*edit:   Star Trek: Voyager   was pretty good too. I love the BORG :) the more borg the better.

Yeah, just show a dumb logo... And half that CGI stuff was stolen from 09's end credits. SO are we gonna have to call this series '17? Cause they can't come up with sub titles.
