Makes sense, they are anyway soon underwater :D
Luckily for Sony, it's dirt cheap to produce now and it has a large profit margin, so as long as sales justify keeping busy at least one production line, they can keep on making and selling it. Maybe they could make another restyling with 100% BC, but using more recent chips, higher res screen, with upscaled graphics for games and native full res used for other contents, offering more value and battery life while possibly getting costs even lower, as recent mobile chips and screens offer PSV power or more even on entry level smartphones.
Big German retailers Media Markt and Saturn sold their stock at the end of 2014 for 99€ and I haven't seen a Vita in store since then. But you can still find games in several stores.

MediaWorld, Media Markt Italian branch, still sells it both online and, with more limited choice of bundles, in stores. I don't know about Saturn, their store manager in my town is an imbecile so I stopped buying anything from them some years ago.

You are lucky over there, I haven't seen a new Vita under 180€ yet, they bundle all of them with a lot of games for kids, and that jacks up the price a lot.
Have not seen a single one since ages.

I thought all of Europe was Sonyland? I guess that's not the case.
I always felt the VGC's Vita numbers for Europe were very suspicious...

Prices are high at the moment, expect to pay 199 € for a new one. Still available online.

I'm starting to think that Sony has quietly stopped shipment of the PlayStation Vita in PAL region.
