its very likley that even without patches some older games may perform better if as it would be the same CPU architecture but the chip has more transitors or higher clock speed. The games who drop under 30 fps for example, of course only if if its really a better APU inside

yea some games with frame drops could see improved performance in places, but the games won't outperform the limitations the devs have set (like 30fps or sub 1080p res etc) without a patch

frame pacing in Bloodborne for example won't improve either as that's a quirk of the engine itself

i really dont see any frame pacing in bloodborne or its not noticable

I didn't have any problem with it myself (recently got the BB platinum), it's measureable and some ppl say it's "a huge issue" to them

Apparently you will only be able to play movies in 4k but not your games.

Hmm ok, and?

Basically sony made the original console too weak and now wants the consumer to pay for their mistake, thus screwing over 40 million gamers.

So they think PS4K will only make movies play in 4K and somehow this is going to screw over 40 million current PS4 owners?

LOL

wow talk about logic.

PS4.5 will be capable of playing all games in native 1080p,60fps. The current ps4 can't do this for all games.  It can for some but not for the high end games like uncharted 4.

Hands up, who can afford a 4K TV?

Dude... I just saw my 4k 50" samsung on sale for $775 (I paid 950). Pretty sure price isn't a problem anymore.

I currently have a 55" SONY TV 1080p and i LOVE it.

I will eventually move to a 4K TV, but i wont go less than 60"

Ive seen numerous articles that explains how the difference is just not visible enough on "small" TV's (50" and down)

As a PS4/Wii U owner, I may be the only one to see this comparison, but is it just me or is the PS4K not as bad as Nintendo coming out with the NX just 4yrs after the Wii U? And there's rumors of the NX not having bwc, and unsure if we can even use the wiimote/gamepad.

I mean the PS4K is just 3yrs after PS4 but is technically it's still a PS4 and everything I have for my PS4 will still work with it so you're not really screwed.

All these rumors are tearing us apart. I'm just going to wait until confirmation before I confirm my thoughts of anything more about PS4K and NX.

Isn't this like an upgrade? Not necessary to play the current and future library?
It's something like the new3DS.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Its gona make game slook better, if its 4k or not I dont know (probably not, its rather impossible to release a console that does 4k for the price ppl are saying this will cost). Old ass PS4 will have worse looking games but will run everything, no one is getting screwed, end of history.

Pretty much the new 3DS ye, but aparently on PS4s case no game will be exclusive to the 4.5 (at least thats what leaks and whatnot sugest), altough some compromises might have to be made to acomodate certain games on the weaker hardware.

One thing to point out (AGAIN), the current PS4 model will likely get a price cut (guaranteed $50 ... likely $100 to combat the incoming $250 xb1).

So you'll have a fully functioning PS4 for $249.99/$299.99 (same games) vs a premium SKU PS4 ( same games) for $399.99/$499.99.

All you people complaining about how no one has a 4K TV, are the same people that would just end up getting the cheaper SKU.

Lol at all the people and media thinking the "PS4K"(or the NX for that matter) will output gaming visuals at ultra-high definition resolution. The thing would have to cost well over $1,000US and that is a conservative estimate. Try building a PC capable of playing games in 4K(not 1440P but true 4k as in 3840 pixels × 2160P) for under $1,000US, it can't be done. The GPUs alone would cost more than that.

Thank you, thank you! I cannot stress this enough. It'll be upscaled. I would love it to be truely native, but LOL @ THEM! I'm split on if the PS4k will be upscaled for games or if it's for media only. Would Sony really pull that on games, after building all that trust with them? I'm almost inclined to believe Nintendo doing upscaled for gaming. I know the new president was the head of the NoA during the N64 era and he does push for more power and is more aggressive. But at the same time, Nintendo didn't do HD for the Wii because they claimed not enough people had an HD T.V. Well less people have 4K today, thank HD then. Also if the console does cost $400? People will shit their pants that a Nintendo console is that expensive, and they want to sell 10 million units right off the bat? Well... the hardcore games are going to eat that shit right up if upscaled 4K and pumps out more polygons. I'm not so sure if the casual couch patatos will be doing that right off the bat unless Nintendo scores big with EA spots or CoD. Could you imagine the repercussions of CoD: Space Warfare is for PS4, XBO, and NX and this "rumored" Bloodlines game is an NX exclusive to utilize the new hardware? Totally wishful thinking that would never happen.... but shit... the NX would fly off the shelves and it'd almost be harder to find one than that rare Amiibo you want.

Just free thinking all that unlikely bullshit. You know we all want it.
