Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Seems like Nintendo is switching to red

The only thing interesting is that the grey is directly tied to the Wii brand, which we already knew they were abandoning.

Hopefully a sign that they realise the Wii audience is gone and they'll focus on core gamers.

They definitely focused on core gamers with the 3DS and Wii U. I think this may have to do with the new leadership changing their image more than anything else.

It's ok I guess. The branding is more cartoony/kid-like though.

That's a good thing. Disney's is too, and they are a $100b entertainment titan.

There is no new leadership. Kimishima is just following what Iwata started, and he's only new to being president, not being a leader at Nintendo.

Good. That grey one was fugly.
Nintendo trying to be apple... Good that's over

Over? Are you kidding? Have you not been paying attention for the past two years? They are going to be more like Apple with the NX, not less. The color of a branding doesn't change that.

Also lol at red means going "back to their roots." It's just a color change, and it's not even the same as it used to be. It's not an indicator, what-so-ever, of some "return to form." All it's an indicator of is a separation of the Wii/DS era branding specifically. Not the games, not the audience, not the IP - the brand.

Remember, their first mobile game of theirs was Miitomo. Not Mario. Not Zelda. Miis. From the Wii. Literally all it indicates is that the NX isn't going to be called the Wii NX. Your classic Nintendo is long since dead, obsolete, and never returning.

red looks better for them

No they focused on Kids and casuals, as they always do.

Nintendo has always been like that. They make software that appeal to all demographics and ages.
