Just wondering, but does any US citizen on VGChartz live in a state that still teaches creationism? If so, how's the education there?

I recently gave a presentation on creationism/evolution in our schooling system, and was surprised when I realized there are many people who still support creationism(especially in classes for "discussions" or such).

I understand theistic evolution, but creationism? Why is America still holding back? We aren't teaching the stories of us being made by tortilla(Mayans) as a way of "scientific discussion".

Quite disappointing, especially when the likes of Bill Nye give great debates and are open to creationism(if proven).

When I see the people who run the education system(and government) in America, it makes it clearer as to why many Americans lack intelligence.

The problem is that under a Christian worldview creationism doesn't apply merely to how life itself formed, it's about the entire world. And you have to accept all or nothing basically. It taints every facet of their thinking. It cannot be isolated, it is the virus that pervades their reasoning.

There is one thing we do know and that is creationism isn't science. And we can be thankful for that. What would be better is if religious studies were introduced in school so that young people have some hope of overcoming their superstitious indoctrination.
