Forums - Sales Discussion - Anyone have magazines before 1994 that have monthly best sellers charts?

Here's the first monthly chart to include console games.

Here's the second ever UK chart covering 28 March - 10 April 1984:

I lik retro-stuff.
Great thread. Surely Dizzy was very popular in UK at that time.
There is even Rare in that charts ( but wih the old name )

TAG:  Like a Yamauchi pimp slap delivered by Il Maelstrom; serving it up with style.

I used to play Dizzy on the Spectrum, but that was in the 80s, a few years before these charts.

April 1991:

It was difficult for console games to chart back then due to budget home computer games selling for £1.99 or £2.99, compared to new Master System games which were £29.99, and Mega Drive games which were £34.99. If I remember correctly Phantasy Star was actually £39.99 when it released on the Master System back in the 80s! That was partly due to it having battery back up. I find it funny when people complain about the price of games today, taking inflation into account they've come down a in price a lot.

It's driving me crazy! I must have US 16-bit monthly sales !! GamePro only had a monthly Blockbuster chart. EGM only Babbages charts (w/ch skewed too much towards gamers).

And Nintendo Power combined their sales charts ("dealer's picks") with the other beginning in 1992.

So I;m reviving this thread in seach of SNES/GEN monthly 16-bit sales before 1994.

Alright I just sent an email to NoA requesting SUPER NES sales charts like they had been broken down in Nintendo Power with the NES. (Yes, NP had US monthly sales charts before 1992- you just had to know how to read them)
