Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Fire Emblem Fates Question

Feel free to lock if this question has already been answered.

So Fates is coming out in the US in 3 days, and I'm certainly planning on playing through both Birthright and Conquest. With that said, I'm on the fence about which one I'll play first, and the reason for that is...I'd like to be able to make the game's big choice (Hoshido vs. Nohr) based on the interactions I have with characters over the first four chapters or whatever it is. Choosing one version over the other at the start feels like I'm undermining the entire point behind choosing who your true family is if you don't get to know them in the first place.

I'm aware that buying the digital version allows you to make that choice in game, but I'd also kind of like a physical release as well, in case I ever want to lend the game out to somebody. And since I'm planning on paying the $60 for both versions at some point regardless, I'd like to ask all you wonderful people...

Do you know if it would be possible to buy a physical copy of one version of the game, immediately download the second version, and then be able to make the choice on my first playthrough?

Ok let's say you get Birthright, in chapter 5 if you pick Hoshido then everything goes as normal, however if you try to go Nohr then the game will give you the option to buy conquest for $20

I believe you can download/buy the other version (except for REVELATIONS) on day 1. And what Mike said!

Oh, sweet. I was under the impression that it would just immediately make the choice for you.

Cool. Well, thanks, that takes care of my concern.
