Forums - Nintendo Discussion - WiiU-only owners, would you have bought 3DS games if they were on the U?

I only own a WiiU and

some 3DS games I'd like to own. 97 90.65%

no 3DS games interest me. 10 9.35%

Total:107

Sure, all the 3DS games would be cool tonplay on the Wii U.

I wonder if Kid Icarus Uprising would be better to control and handle if I could use the gamepad's touch screen?

Definitely, I would buy every single 3DS Zelda.

I'm thinking that for KI:U the gamepad would have to be lighter. Do you think they will revamp the gamepad for NX - seeing that some games are expected to be playable on both hardwares - just to make it more usable?

I'm not even certain whether or not the gamepad will be brought back for NX.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of games they'll bring to the table if they plan to revamp it.

So this confirms that a handheld and home console that have a shared library would do well in selling to both crowds. I'm sure people would also buy Wii U games on 3DS if it could handle them.

Absolutely, 3DS has amazing games

Without a bit of upgraded graphics and resolution, imagine a SD (really even sub SD) game on an HD tv *shudders*. Basically put in Wii games and see how they fair on Wii U.

Without added development time and cost, there would be no way they could sell it for $60. Maybe if they continued to sell for $40, but then you got the stigma of it not really looking like a budgeted game... Like at all....

I'd say most games wouldn't sell a fraction of what they did on 3ds if they were only on Wii U. And certainly those games wouldn't sell consoles.

Yes, but just if they make something special with it.
Resident Evil Revelations is a good example of a 3ds game that was ported well to the WiiU. I only missed the local multiplayer

YES!
As seen on the VC sales many people do not care very much about graphics when gameplay is good.
Also the indie trend with pixel graphics is very popular on the big screen.
Mobile games are also examples of low graphics games that almost everyone play (even VGChartzers).

I have a problem with handhelds because it is painful for the hands to play with such a small controller.
The same game on the TV and with a bigger and more comfortable controle would be good.

I certainly would have. There are some great titles on there.

Do you remember the Super Game Boy or the Gameboy player?

I also agree about gameplay, the other day I was having a blast playing Metroid Zero Mission on the U.

I was interested in that kind of accessories but never bought it. With accessories you never know if there will be support for more than a few games.

Gameplay > Graphics

I bought the 3DS mainly for Fire Emblem: Awakening, Professor Layton and Pilotwings, but if it had come to Wii U with the same graphics I would be content.

I have not bought MK7, Kid Icarus, Luigi's Mansion, SM3DL and other games as I find it tiresome to play on a small controler and small screen for longer times.

Even if i bought Animal Crossing for the 3DS I was prepared (still am) to buy it for the Wii U too!
