Talking about Smart decisions the smartest Nintendo could take is to release NX in 2016. they already tested the waters back in 2006 with the Wii and TP, I don't really know why they should wait that long to give it a timed exclusivity, moreover to release it on the same date on both consoles is the best choice for everyone including Nintendo:

-Wii U owners will get the game they were supposed to get;

-Wii U owners will get the opportunity to chose between playing the "worse" version on the console they already own or to pick up the best one on the NX, in the first case they save money, in the second one they get a better game, win-win;

-Diehard Zelda fans will get both versions;

-Non Wii U owners won't have to wait to get the game and more importantly won't get spoiled by any mean on the game;

-NX will have a big title in the first weeks after it's launch, if not on the Day One;

and the list goes on...

It would be completely dumb to release the next home console in 2016. We discussed that before.

And trust me, I'm a dieharc Zelda fan and I won't buy both versions at the same time aka in 2016.

And some Wii U may still be angry (including my own) because the console is worthless for them if they have mainly bought it for Zelda. If Nintendo releases Zelda on both consoles simultaneously than I'm out and will refuse to buy any of their products in the future.

Yeah, shure, it's dumb to replace a commercial failure after 4 years of it's life when the expected lifetime was 5 years, If I were a Wii U owner I would certainly be ashamed instead of understanding that Nintendo can't keep working on a system that makes such little revenue and if they were to support it until the end of 2017 there would have to be LOTS of other droughts and shitty spin-offs like Amiibo Festival that could possibly damage Nintendo's reputation for High quality software irreversibly.

If you look at what Nintendo is doing you can clearly understand that NX is coming out in 2016, Febbruary 2017 at the latest. It's the best thing that could happen for you Wii U owners too, Nintendo back in 2012 probably planned a schedule of 5 years, due to the sales problems the last two years will be rushed in a single one it beeing 2016 as you can tell by the large ammount of games coming out next year.

Yes we discussed that before and you are in vast minoroty thinking that NX home console will not come in 2016. and that would be completly dumb.

I dont get it how some people don't see that is exactly same over again TP situation. Zelda U will get dual release next year.

I don't see why people still believe there will be a new console in 2016. Remember Wii U's launch? It was silent. If you release it in 2016, nobody would care for it. It would be another. Nintendo doesn't want that. And I said it before: thr next home console launch in late 2017. That's almost fact. Deal with it.

And where on earth is it good that Nintendo betrays Wii U owners? They will loose a lot of consumers' trust with a 2016 release.

Probably because the majority in this community believes every shit on the internet. Don't trust those people. These leakers a lifeless idiots. Don't gibe them the attention they want. Be a smart person :)

And I don't get it why people still believe there will be a Twilight Princess situation. If you would have read my post you would know that this certainly won't happen. Nintendo is a economic company that wants to make profit. It's not a company that wants to fullfill the dreams of some weird people of this community. They will do what's best for them and that is what I described.

You're right on one thing: Wii U's launch was silent, and that's why Nintendo is already teasing us with the NX, with past consoles there weren't this many news regarding the console before it was even officially announced, now we already have a small list of 3/4 titles that are almost confirmed for the system, plus we have lots of patents that were registered in the last few months. If Nintendo were to launch their next console in 2017 why would most of their development teams be already developing for the NX when the Wii U has still 2 years to live ?

Releasing the system in 2016 is also a clever move due to the competition: in 2013 both PS4 and X1 will be only 3 years old meaning that the NX (if released with proper specs) will be leading hardware-wise for AT LEAST two years...

Well you have to believe in some infos even some of them are shit, and all infos we have are pointing that NX is coming next year, basically nothing points for 2017 release.

People believe it will be same TP situation because its almost exactly same situation with Zelda U. TP had had dual release I don't see why it would be different with Zelda U. Nintendo is economic company that wants to make profit and that's why they will release NX next year and that's why we will have Zelda U dual release.

You're talking like if you were some sort of prophet, you can't know for shure but facts as of what we know point at NX releasing in holiday 2016

Just wanted to say that I love the thread title.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
