You could always use Stylish... I use a style that doesn't show me avatars or signatures.  It really unclogs the forum so one can read it without getting blasted by images and moving gifs the whole time.

I do 100 . I have sigs disabled(which sometimes sucks if references are made to sigs) but with out the sigs the post are like half the size.
