so it's average damn!!

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

MGS5 has 1080p and 60 fps on the PlayStation 4.

X1: only 900p and 60 fps.

PS360: 720p and 30 fps

Not that Famitsu scores are very reliable, but yeah!

They are more reliable than Gamespot and metacritic

I fixed that up a bit for you.

While true, DF's MGS5 article seems to imply that the difference very rarely manifests (and seemingly only in cutscenes), so i doubt any but the most hardcore of frame-rate advocates will care (ignoring the obvious exceptions).

'Only' seems a bit over dramatic. The difference between 900p and 1080p is certainly large enough to be relevant to those that care about IQ, but even then the difference isn't so significant that the former should be actively scoffed at. If they'd stuck with 720p then sure, but 900p? Eh.

Looking at the Digital Forge analysis, part of me suspects it has less to do with a less consistent frame rate during cutscenes (though I wouldn't be surprised if that were partially the case), than the PS4 version forcefully capping it at 30 fps during certain parts of cutscenes, which is not the case in the Xbox One version.

Personally, if the only really significant frame rate drops happened during cutscenes, I would have preferred a locked 30 fps during cutscenes, rather than the forceful switch in the PS4 version or the lost frames in the Xbox One version. Rapidly shifting frame rates give me more of headache than locked, but lower frame rates. And since it's a cutscene, it really doesn't matter.

In any case, I am glad 2015 is proving to have so many fantastic games as opposed to a whole slew of merely good games (as well as a lot of disappointments) that defined 2014. Hopefully we see more before the end of the year.
